hes talking about the wack ones, he didn't say every white guy cant rap
And i agree with him i hate it when a white guy trys so hard to be gangsta
Thats my point, I'm not saying white people don't have a place in hip hop, I'm just putting my 2 cents in on the ones that try to be too thug and gangsta.

It's like a mexican trying to be chinese:chinese:

And I do understand the idea of fiction/non-fiction, and i realize that some Horrorcore artists do enjoy the horror film theme, write about it to ENTERTAIN and I can respect tha.t

I guess what I'm trying to say is don't try to be something your not.

But as for my opinion on Horrorcore, it's alright. and none of my rant was pointed solely at the genre

shouldnt horror core be based on horror type shit? and that pendulum song isnt at all so why is that based on horrorcore? is it because ICP is horrorcore or what then? IMO the name horrorcore is a cry out for help when it's really just hip-hop and nothing more nothing less. they just want to be known on a different type of genre cause there unerground and want nothing to do with mainstream cause if ur horrorcore and then rappin on some none grewsum shit then what it is? it is just hiphop. IMO horrorcore is bullshit and they should just say who they are and thats hip=hop. no1 ever said hip-hop was one single thing cause it coulb be about anything as long as ur rappin how u feel and doing it with rhythm and it's in a way ppl can feel. yeah i'm pretty drunk right now but this how i feel and i might clean it up tomorrow when i check it out but i feel i said what needed to be said about the whole horrorcore scene

I like horrorcore a little but I'm not into it in a big way, mostly because most of the people who choose to do it just plain can't rap.

Don't think anyone mentioned the Gravediggaz in this thread. If so thats a shock. For those who don't know, Gravediggaz was a group made up of producer Prince Paul (De La Soul, Handsome Boy Modeling School, etc) Frukwan (of Stetsasonic), RZA (of The Wu-Tang Clan) and the late Too Poetic. Worth a look.

they are putting on an act to make money, which then means there actors, and where i come from if you act like something you aint or act like you do something your a fake
so Tech N9ne, at times, is a fake? Nah, music doesn't have to be "real". Hip-Hop is pretty much the only genre where this shit comes up. I think its just silly really.

3.) i it depends on the artist does soulja man really love to dance and make dance music, as the same for horror core do they really love horror stuff so they make music out of it? or is it they that soulja man and horror core artist just want money? just comparing the ways of why they rap, not there styles or flows
I don't doubt that Soulja likes to dance - I also don't doubt that he likes his own music. The issue with Soulja Boy (and with most Horrorcore rappers) is that they are crap rappers, it doesn't really have anything to do with him wanting money. He's clearly rapping to make money (something I don't think can be said about the horrorcore dudes as if they are doing it to get money they are fucking idiots) but theres nothing wrong with that. Jay-Z is rapping to get money as well - always has been. Thats not to say his stuff doesn't come out of love or that it never started out as just fun for him, but its no secret that him and Dame started the ROC in order to make money because the mainstream heads wern't giving him a deal. Also, staying with him, in a sense Jay-Z is even faker than Horrorcore, he said it himself with the lines "Truthfully / I wanna rhyme like Common Sense" suggesting he doesn't even make what he wants to make. His music may be grounded more in real life but if he's not making what he really would have liked to then surely thats faker than some lil white kid who wants to make music under the guise of a horrific character as so goes and does so (lol, I know thats a stretch of an argument but still)

It's just a sub-genre name used for clarification. It's just like the terms Crunk, G-Funk, Hyphy, Hardcore, Gangsta Rap, Emo Rap, Backpack, etc, etc.

Although I do agree with you to a point because some Horrorcore acts don't see themselves as being part of Hip-Hop, which is just short-sighted.

King Gordy
Brotha Lynch

Esham (from before signing to ICP)
Lo Key is aight
Ill Bill
thats about it.
d00d, i don't think Ill Bill would ever be considered "horrors core"

also, esham had like five billion albums before his psychopathic album... i like some shit off 'boomin words from hell' and 'kkkill the fetus'
other shit i'm not so into

I just sarted fucking with "horrorcore" within the last year, maybe a little before that. I got into it through artists that Tech fucks with (PDM, King Gordy, ICP, Twiztid, Brotha Lynch, Mars, etc) then branched out (Necro, etc). Its almost a relief listening to "horrorcore" (or pretty much any underground act like Ill Bill, Jedi Mind Tricks, etc). The lyrical content is so different and orginal compared to whats on the radio. Its just more interesting than rims, money and cocaine.

King Gordy and Lo Key, both, are very fucking good.

I had most of LoKey's discog before my music on my computer got whipped out.

Also, Sutter Kain, anyone?
Sutter Kain's metal beats are so raw!!!
his style sucks to me but it kinda fits in
Blood Thirst and August Underground are the best rock/rap beats ive ever heard

I think it's funny that he has made beats for people like Mystikal, Lil Kim, and KC and JoJo.

He's an amazing producer.
I like a few of his songs, such as "Kain Made Me Do It" and "4 Cornered Room"
4 Cornered Room def my fav solo track from him.
all of that Black Sunday album with Donnie Darko was dope.

Why is it good that horrorcore rap exists?

1. There's all types of rap out there, to appeal to all kinds of people.
2. There's a subgenre of horror in punk and metal, for an example, and since rap is looked at as a radical form of musical expression, why not have a subgenre like that here as well?
3. Not bad having a darker, harder form of rap besides that gangsta stuff. And so what if it's based mainly on fantasy? We see "real" everytime we walk out the house, we don't ALWAYS need to hear about that shit. Just like rap fans who are God fearing and do claim a religion don't really want to hear "Christian rap".

There's good and bad horror rap. Alot of it's cheesy, with the subject matter and the "monster" voices and all that...just like the cheesy "it's so bad it's good" B-movie horror fare. But there's also good, solid horror rap that's dark, riveting, and attention grabbing. And I'm a hip-hop dude so I like coming across those who can do horror and still come across as a above average lyricist.
