I rented this game. I've been playing for about 2 hours and I just beat chapter 4 out of 7 I think. So single-player is definitely really short. Haven't tried multiplayer yet but so far this is pretty much what all the reviews have said. Story's pretty cool, you're a pilot who gets pulled into the resistance and you fight the Koreans in the suburbs with Hooters and White Castle around. Graphics aren't very impressive. They're even worse than COD. But I don't care too much about graphics myself. All guns seem to fire the same way for me. I don't feel like there's enough variation and half the time I don't even know what I'm firing. I haven't gotten to drive any vehicles yet. I'll play MP in a little while and see what I think of that. So far, this game is your standard FPS with a not-so-standard storyline.

Alright I played some MP. It's actually better than I thought it would be. I played team deathmatch and the domination type game. TDM goes up to 90 kills and domination has 3 rounds to it, each in different parts of the map. The maps are big in this game. But you have unlimited sprint so I guess that helps out a bit. Battle points system is pretty simple - get points for killing people, capturing objectives, extra points for headshot, melee, etc. Each class has 2 extra powers (like UAV, RPG, deploy a sentry drone) and each of them costs a certain number of BP. Or you can use BP to respawn in a vehicle. Hit detection seems on point in this game but it takes a lot of bullets to kill someone. Oh and I can't get past level 5. This game comes with a code to play online and get past level 5. If you rent this game you won't have that. If you buy this game used, you'll have to pay for the code but I don't know how much it costs.

So far the servers are a complete fail! Tryed to play TDM and it wasn't happening... Googled it apperantly everybody is having this problem. Was forced to play skirmish. Takes way to many bullets to kill somebody! Has the clunky gameplay like battlefield which im not a huge fan of. Only was able to play 2 matches before it started kicking me from lobbys, saying could not connect to match. Probably put it on hold for a minute til they fix the server issues...This is why every FPS should be required to run a beta before release!

I noticed the ticker at the bottom of the screen said they were having high volume problems with the dedicated servers but I had no problem connecting at all. But when I went to check the leaderboard it said that I was signed out of the network. Weird.

I been playing deathmatch for about 45 min (PS3)and I'm not feeling this game. The graphics are shit, the controls are SLOW, recoil on the weapons is not manageable like it is in bc2 - it seems like it just shakes your reticule around. In battlefield you can burst fire to control the recoil. Already I can see there's vehicle raping, including drone/uav raping and snipers seem to have a pretty huge advantage. Menu and lobby looks like cod.

If one fps could just manage to use the same "Smooth" engine that COD uses alot of people would probably jump ship. The edge COD has over every other shooter is smooth fluent movement. Every other fps i've ever played including this one just feels like you are moving in slow motion and the whole screen bounces around when you move. I just don't understand why nobody else can do this like COD? Other companies don't have them money to afford this type of technology or something?

that last medal of honor got some pretty mediocre reviews across the board. just curious, but why do you seem so into medal of honor? every other game you mention on here is either japanese or a fighting game or both.

& OT, if i have Catherine imported, can it be played entirely in english? text-wise, i mean. if not, i'll just wait..
MOH is just fun. It's far more tactical than COD. In COD you have objectives but they all are the same. Just destroy wave after wave of enemies. In MOH you're always doing something different. You're thinking a bit more.

I would rate it like this.

MOH Campaign
Black Ops Online

Black Ops Campaign

EDIT: No Catherine is all in Japanese. I would wait for the American release. Seems Atlus is doing the best job they can with this release.

Have you ever played a FPS like Wolfenstein Enemy Territory? There is absolutely no thought process into MoH compared to most other good FPS. Hell, even Battlefield: Bad Company kept you making tough decisions every step you take online, speaking of that MoH is set up exactly like that game the only difference is you take away vehicles/planes and huge maps..
