Could be possible.I've seen some south wear red in the southwest with 13.I think they hear about the north and the south.Then they get the colors mixed up..

I've never seen a norteno claiming blue??But I have seen few surenos claim red with13..Wait I think I have seen some in Dallas TX.They consider themselves Northsiders.From a barrio called VNS ,but they claim 13.Saying their nortenos.

Single colors is a west coast califas thing.Mixed color is more east coast or midwest.

Back in the day some carnales in Sacra claimed Red N Black . That eventually carried out in the east,southwest and northwest to the gangs.All colors have meanings to them also.

Before the North and South thing jumped off on the streets, gangs wore all different colors. In San Jo in the late 70's, vatos wore all kinds of different colored panos. Some gangs wore one particular color. Latin Lords or is it Latin Dukes, anyweyz, they were from the area that is now CPL (Capitol Park Locos) and there old flikas of them wearing I think brown or black panos. I know a veterano from my old Neighborhood in S-vale who used to wear different pano on his head for every day of the week.
Only in the late 80s's did the red vs. blue thing start jumping off streets, they was always brawling inside the CDC but back then Nortenos and Scraps rarely ran into each other on the calles. Now of course all these Paisa Scraps migrate to Norte and become wannabes but it wasn't like that back in the early to mid 80's.
