just control panel add/remove programs uninstall then dl again

or just try googling a crack or serial for it, while in add/remove programs hit the click here for more support information...then google crack or serial for whatever version it is

im trying to install service pack 2 on my computer
but it says that my windows is not valid what do i do
how do i validate it without it paying
Do a google serch on this exact term
"windows validation patch" without the quotes of course.

here are the results of the search in case you are too lazy.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=windows+validation+patch

You'll find a patch somewhere I'm sure :cheeky:
You should know that it is best to install Sp2 over a fresh install of XP.
I sure hope you didn't buy your pc from a store. If you did...You've been GANKED!

I like using mozilla but everytime I go on myspace it automatically plays a windows media player even when it is embedded not to automatically play. IE doesn't do this. Anyone know how to setup mozilla so it won't automatically play videos on pages?

i bought mine from circiut city, and its got windows XP, does that mean its not valid??
No, but to test to see if you have valid installation, go to www.microso ft.com and try to download any security update for XP. Before you download any critical update patch from them, they require that you go through the "Windows validation" process where they scan your computer and check to see if the serial/license is a valid one. If you got it from CC then it should test fine. If not , you need to go and hollar at em.

installing ram

im runnin 2x 256mb pc2700, 2x 512mb pc2700
which order should i run these and does it make a difference?
slot 1 512mb. slot 2 256mb.
You shouldn't run it at all. If you have two RAM sticks they should be identical matches. Manufacturer, Type, and SIZE!
http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/assemble7.htm
Manufacturers and Speeds
In theory, it shouldn't matter if the RAM modules are made by different manufacturers, as long as the type and speed are the same. But sometimes subtle differences between manufacturers can cause problems; so we recommend that you purchase RAM made by the same manufacturer, if possible.

Also in theory, when different speed RAM modules are used, then all of the RAM should clock to the speed of the slowest module. But in reality, we've found that mixing RAM speeds often causes system instability; so we strongly recommend that all of the RAM installed in your computer be of the same speed. (And of course, you must use RAM pairs of identical size and speed when using RAMBUS or dual-channel DDR.)
