Now with all the great comments/example of guns out there.....I pose another question to you all. Where would you(s) reccomend a good hiding spot for Shotguns? Handguns?....I have kids so the obvious answer would be get a lock box of some sort, but just in case of a burglary (home or not home) im looking for a secure and well hidden spot for my weapons? I've already thought of false walls and things of that nature but would like to hear other advice....
I don't know how young your kids are but i'd encourage the safe handling of guns at a young age, familiarize the kids on how to use them properly. Teaches them valuable disipline.

If you think about it, what good is a gun if its all locked up when you need it. That 2 minutes you are running to unlock a box can be the difference between life and death you know. I'd get a gun with a hammer lock that you can keep on your keychain or something.

Personally i have my mag loaded in my nightstand, it doesn't have any kind of safety mechanisms on it whatsoever. I live alone though and I'm pretty well disiplined about the safe handling of firearms. My lady doesn't know i have them though and would flip if she found out about them. I might sell the gun and get a crossbow or something more quiet :siccness:

there's 380 pistols homie. i wouldnt be surprised if he's talking about the hi-point 380 specifically, ive heard those are hit and miss with jamming.

I definetly agree!!!! I have 4 kids 7mo old 2yr old 11&13yr old.
Teaching the oldest would be hard, she dont like messing around with anything like that. Maybe when we are home i'll keep a gun with me, but hidden away in near by droors/cabinets? some how i'll keep the gun from being exposed to my kids only problem would be if i were to go outside or do something and forget about the weapon....Man this decision is complicated for me, @ least b4 i just had the .22 on a ankle holster and kept it on me all the time. Maybe i'll do that keep a small caliber gun on me when with the family in the house? that way i'll know where it's at all the time...No excuses this way......And at night i'll keep between the mattress or under the pillow...and keep my shotgun locked up in a locker?!...i dunno i'll figure it out!

my hi points never jam until the spring on the clip gets fucked up. its the cheap 9$ clips not the gun itself causing the problem

I was about to buy one... or a few myself, but it was hard finding a shop that carried them. I know guns & fishing in vacaville carried them(at like 70$s over what they should be) but them dudes is elitists so fuck spending money with them. but i know they got a lifetime warranty so you cant really go wrong even if you do get one that jams, can just get it fixed.

380acp is the right name to call it I guess, that stops the confusion with revolvers.

yea... you can just get one online... have it sent to an ffl, the ffl will charge you like 20$ but still youll be getting whatever caliber you want for around 200$ which is good. they are fucking durable too. i got the 45acp for 120$ from the paper. it was pretty used when i got it, ive put alot of rounds through it myself. still works perfect. i just send in the clips every once in awhile, and hi point sends new ones with no questions asked. only bad thing i can say about these is that they are a son of a bitch to take apart and clean. parts will fly everywhere. i gotta take the final little thing out while i have the whole gun inside a plastic bag, so the bag will catch all the flying parts. lol. not too bad putting back together. has a real simple and effective safety too
