Shit looks sick.

And I wouldn't be surprised if there's a couple more cities now.

There's a advertising sign in the trailer for an airport that says something like:

"Ticket To Vice City: $300"

Also, since it's Liberty City, we know that Carcer City is a neighbor to Liberty City, since in GTA3 theres a sign to a blocked off tunnel that says "To Carcer City"... So maybe that could play an effect a game.

It seems like they kept a lot of the look of Liberty City the same, but updated it with a Times Square type place, Coney Island and a Statue of Liberty.

Also, perhaps Liberty is a state? And other cities in that state will be unlocked since the beginning it's only showing the sign Liberty and not Liberty City.

And the reason why I think that GTA4 could have other cities is that the first trailer for GTA: SA only showed Los Santos, and San Fierro and Las Venturas weren't shown.

we had an idea about a game called LA MIGRA!(worked at a video game store) that would have been about the same thing the european dude was talking about in the trailer smuggling crossing borers from all around the country and world..hopefully it will be along those lines..where the character has to do that stuff again

graphics lood good but the trailor is weak.......

so the main character is a russian immigrant this time????

i wonder if that will make a huge difference in the plot at all since hes not an American gang banger or mafia member.......i really wonder if it gets into anything terrorist wise.....like assisting them or at least dealing wit them......be somethin different.....dont know how much the gov would like that but Rockstar is good at controversy......

i think its bullshit that ur a russian guy, i think if they really wanted to show up Saints Row they should have made ur guy customizable and have him talk way more than they do in Saints Row.
Customizable shit wouldn't work out like that in GTA because they always connect to the other games with the story.

Plus, if the story has to do with the plight of a russian immigrant, it wouldn't make much sense to have a gangsta character..

The story means to much in GTA to have a customizable character.. Saint's Row's story was garbage for the most part, even though the game was tight as hell...

Saint's Row was a good holdover until the real thing, though.. GTA shouldn't have much trouble outdoing Saint's Row.. All they really have left to accomplish is good explosion effects, good character customization (in the way San Andreas did, but deeper), deeper car customization (like Saint's Row), better aiming (I'm hoping for a aiming system like Saint's Rows) and better side missions...

If they accomplish those, the games already on par, plus adding in the typical GTA replayability, flying, motorcycles, boats, Casinos (there was a casino in liberty city in GTA:3), and everything else.. Plus the graphics for GTA4 are better than Saints Row's and they are more realistic.. It's looking to be a great game.

Some info has been released today through Game Informer Mag which was sent out to subscribers.

* The protagonist's name is Niko Bellic - an Eastern European immigrant who has come to Liberty City to live the "American Dream."
* The GTA 4 equivalent of the Statue of Liberty is called the Statue of Happiness, and DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is known as BOABO (Beneath the Offramp of the Algoquin Bridge Overpass).
Game Informer
* In Grand Theft Auto IV, Rockstar have recreated 4 of the 5 boroughs in New York, as well as part of New Jersey.
* The map is smaller than San Andreas, but considerably more detailed. No countryside or desert we are led to believe.
* Broker is the GTA IV equivalent of Brooklyn, Manhattan is now called Algonquin, Queens is now Dukes, the Bronx is Bohan, and New Jersey is Alderney.
* Pedestrians are far more realistic in GTAIV than in previous GTA games - they sit on benches, smoke cigarettes, read books and carry out various other activities.
* The screenshots in the preview are not representative of the final quality of graphics. The game will only look better as the release draws closer..
* Niko was persuaded to move to Liberty City by his cousin Roman, who claimed to have two beautiful women, fast cars, and lots of money etc, but he was infact telling a lie in order to hide his own failures. Roman is the only person you know in Liberty City at the beginning of the game, and he becomes one of your major connections from the start. Niko is a tough character whereas Roman is friendly. Roman is heavily in debt and a lot of people are after him - he needs Niko's support. They are constantly bickering.
* The demo begins with Bellic standing inside of the taxi depot, which Roman operates in the borough of Broker in a converted industrial garage. Roman works at a cluttered desk in a shabby environment, and it this point the graphical improvements are extremely evident. Bellic walks to a brownstone house in Broker, where he pushes open the door and pulls out his pistol - the house however, is it not occupied.
* Variations in the terrain cause the walking animation to change. The physics have also improved and character movements are more realistic.
* Multiplayer in Grand Theft Auto 4 is set to be announced...
* You can use a cellphone to call your contacts.
* Apparently there are no planes because there is only one city in the game.
* You have a lot of choice over what you want to do. You still have to take orders from people during missions, but you can also choose how you want to spend your time, e.g "I want to hang out with him, or her... I want to go see this guy 'cause he always has something to do..."
* The story unfolds in a number of different ways. R* is giving people more freedom, more choice and more sense of control over their destiny - the structure of the storyline is quite different to previous games.
* The demo which Game Informer played was for the Xbox 360 version of the game.
