Listen to what the Russian cat says:

"I've killed people, smuggled people, and sold people ..."

Then look how they make sure to show you the boat docks. I'm thinking in some of the new gameplay you'll be making trips across the Atlantic smuggling immigrants or something.

Rockstar is smart enough to make innovations to one of the most successful videogame franchises of all time. They're not going to just give you the same game that was on PS2.
Nah, I heard that part. I just think basing it in a city that's already been used is redundant. It's like they couldn't use Washington DC or something...that would have been a good one now that I think about it.

I know they aren't going to put out the same game, but the same place makes me less inclined to buy it. I'm not saying it won't be tight, I just think they could have been a little more creative.

Since I dont' know about the game play or the missions I can't comment...you're probably right though, it could very easily be a "global" game where you go to different countries to smuggle people.

Oh and if you don't have control over the environment, as in, when you crash a car, if it doesn't smash the building or whatever, that's weak shit. You can run into all sorts of shit in San Andreas and nothing happens except your car gets fucked up. I'm looking for a realistic game where they actually program the game to PUSH THE LIMITS...rather than just giving people the next step up the ladder.

They could make the sickest game in the world and it would kill everything, but then they'd never beat it, and wouldn't make as much profit.

GTA has never really been about where it takes place, but more about what you can do.

With "the power of the 360/PS3" they'll expand on where you can go which in turn increases the things that you can actually do.

Working in the videogame industry for 4 years has taught me that it's the subtle things in game development that often make for the best features.

shit looks pretty sick.... i think the graphics are awesome i just wish we could of been something other then russian russians germans and other eastern europeans just bug me for some reason... not that im saying we need ANOTHER italian(WHICH WE DONT) but i dont know i wouldve been more happy if we were an arab terrorist or an asian or even if we were mexicans making our way from mexico city to LA.... and one of the missions could have been hopping the border and killing all of the border patrol you know... or better yet it would have been sick if we were colombians in a colombian drug ring and throughout the game we make our way to miami and eventually start a drug ring there oph yeahhh

I realize that, but part of the reason I got into San Andreas was the storyline. I didn't play GTA3 all the way through, and I never played Vice City.

I realize they may expand where you can go, but if there's not a major upgrade, I'll be seriously disappointed.

That's cool that you work in the videogame industry. Tell those asshole programers to get their shit together and program something that pushes the limits on the system, rather than making a game like everything else that's out, just a tiny bit better. I just get sick of the "subtle things" because they don't really make it better, just a TINY bit different, so that people will think, "oh it's different" then they go spend their money on it. I'm not that type of consumer. If they ain't puttin out the best product, I dont' want it, especially when they CAN put out something that blows away every other game made. There is a lot of potential on the PS3, and if they don't utilize it, they're just like every other shitty company in this capitalist market :)

With the new engine I hope things in this game are way sicker. I've watched the trailer a few more times, and although I'm not excited about it being in New York, AGAIN...I like how they didn't make the character the same as any of the other games (that I know of).

I hope you didn't buy a PS3

When I say subtle things, I don't mean stuff like changing the color of something from green to a prettier green (best example I could come up with right now).

There's a lot of psychology that goes into making a game that the consumer doesn't realize. That's what I meant. It's not always about aesthethics.

Nope, I didn't get a PS3, but I've been thinking about it. I also thought about the Xbox 360 tho...but I still gotta save up the money..lol...Is there a reason I shouldn't get a PS3 over an Xbox360?

I get your example, it's not a bad one. I just wish the environment was more realistic. Have you ever played Red Faction or Red Faction 2? You shoot buildings and shit and they actually blow up/crumble/have blast holes. None of that happens in GTA. That's pretty much what I was getting at. I just would like COMPLETE control over the environment, I've never played a game that does that.

360 is the way to go IMO. Cheaper. Xbox Live. Better library of games. Anything good on PS3 will be available for 360 too and will probably be better on 360.

I think everything in that game 'Black' was destructable. If I'm not mistaken, it was the selling point of the game.

no.

Real time games with that many people dont work btw. Thats why WoW is so slow. Due to lag, its all command based. Not real time like GTA.
WoW isn't slow at all, I've never had that problem in my two years of playing it

what about graphics and speed? that's what i care about...i don't like that many games anyway, mostly gta, and some football or basketball...i don't play online, so that's not an issue for me either....can you play DVDs on the xbox?

I meant in a GTA style game. Where you can freely roam around and do whatever you want for 25 hours just because you can. Complete and utter freedom. I haven't played 'Black' but I did see it when I got Project 8 and Resevior Dogs. I've seen commercials and it looked all right, I just don't really get into the war games much either...I'm just weird I guess..

The thing about PS3 is that it's a bitch to develop for. It's only slightly more powerful than the 360 and it's harder to work with which means the games will take longer to actually come out. Span that over a few years (which will be the development time for something like God of War III) and that means you get less games.

The PS3 has been a disaster in the marketplace so far and that means it might lose some support. MIGHT being the operative word.

Thanks for the info. I'm not too worried about the amount of games, if I had GTA4, and a madden game, and maybe a racing game, I'd be fine. I only have like 6-7 games for my PS2, and I've had it for 5 years.
