good luck with that! it seems like 90% of people who go to a cc never graduate and give up after a semester. challenge yourself and go to a university. also like someone said above make sure its away from your usual enviroment.
When I got to college orientation they told everybody look at the person on your right and look at the person on your left... only one of you will graduate from here..

I looked and them two and was like sorry for you guys...

props on the school thing

Yeah everyone that goes to community college say the same shit it's like high school. And end bup dropping out. Anybody actually got experience going straight into a university? I have no clue about how to go about this. I'm 20 so I might as well do good with My life and not end up 28 years old on tool academy for using my bitch to much.

The CC I went to has a high success rate for transfers, probably one of the top ones in California and the nation.

Not to sound like a high school counselor...

But as long as you have a plan, truly stick with it, study your fuckin ass off while still going on the siccness a few times a day, nothing will stop you from whatever goal you want to reach.

Its all about baby steps and remaining focused. Knowing that everyday is a step toward bettering your life.

I started with baby steps like 5 years ago. Went to a JC for 2 years, transfered to a university, now I'm a registered nurse at the age of 25.

And if finances are a problem, fafsa, grants, student loans are your friend.

I'm also 20 right now and about to start my junior year. Out of HS, I went to a huge public university in Massachusetts, then I took a semester off and now I go to a decent-sized college here in CT.

If you have the $$ and SAT or ACT (They are important, but they may also consider HS grades... Plus your essay will be key, work hard on that cause as a dude that isn't coming straight from high school they will read this closely) I would say start at a university. If not, there is nothing wrong with a community college and plenty of adjunct professors from universities teach at them. Fuck it if 90% of the others quit, it's all about YOU being about it or bein without it... That is my personal credo, and so far it hasn't failed me.

One thing you could do is register for a few classes at a cc and then take a night class or somethin at a nearby university or college. Can be a good experience and a nice way to feel out campuses.

Basically the most important thing is getting the degree. In most cases, they're looking at the grades and what you did outside of class. More important than WHERE you went, at least as undergrad.

Good luck & props, I know it's hard to get back into it but it will pay off pimpin...

It is some what true about the community college thing especially Contra Costa College cuz its a bunch of class clowns that went there but to me it is better to start that way so you dont fuck things off right away but i only got my AA degree and never really cared to go any further and i lived at home and didnt have to worry about money while i was going there cuz i didnt pay rent and had a job.

I took the university route. A lot of my friends went to cc's and most dropped out to work. The few that transferred to a university had to end up retaking courses because the classes didn't transfer over. Make sure your credits will transfer if you are going to start at a cc.
