No...we aren't. Republicans, though, like Bush, Mr. Nuke the Wildlife Preserve, would have people believe this is not even a problem. It's fucking ludicrous.

We need radical, major changes now, not ten years down the road...And the first step is not voting Bush. If we had Nader in office, that would be the best possible scenario. At the least, Kerry will roll back some of the bullshit environmental policies of the Bush admin....which have been the worst EVER in history of any president since the envrionment became an issue.

Systems are being developed at this point to combat its effects. But our actions are reversible and at the very least we can delay apocalyptic scenarios because of misuse of the environment. Believing that it's all over and we can't do shit about it is very contray to the current Republican mantra that America can do anything as long as we put our minds to it, and you wouldn't want to be contrary Dayton.

The rest of the world is ahead of us on this. Countries like Denmark already have 20% of their energy coming from alternative sources. When it comes to enforcing this in Third World countries, all we need to do is 1. pressure them economically, and 2. use our considerable resources to develop a cost-effective alternative fuel source.

In a worst case scenario in which most non-Western countries did not comply at all, there are still ways to combat the damage being done, such as a massive nationwide movement, and a movement among other Western countried to preserve forests and replant trees, which absorb toxins from the air.

I think its gonna be too little too late. I dont see how we could right what we did wrong in the last 100 years.

Well, as your good friend tadou said, "the effects aren't really noticeable yet". I believe we still have time. And at the least, we can slow our fucking global armageddon.

But are we as a stuborn nation, gasoline consuming suv whores willing to take drastic measures? I am but I lack faith in the rest of America.

22.56 POSTS PER DAY

Fuck, I am one of the last people to recommend banning, but shit man...your posts are pure shit - shit talking, one-liner responses or in other words, SPAM.

MOST ALL of the threads as of late are to difficult to follow and are multiple pages...not of enlightening conversations, but straight shit talking.

I'm not saying you are alone in the shit talking, fuck, I MYSELF am plenty guilty of that too. I'm just saying, 22 posts a day is crazy, and yes, you post in other forums as well, but just look at the topics in the GOM. Multiple pages of DaytonFamily vs. (insert name), back and forth...shit is getting old.

Disaster at sea: global warming hits UK birds

Hundreds of thousands of Scottish seabirds have failed to breed this summer in a wildlife catastrophe which is being linked by scientists directly to global warming.

...

a rise in sea temperature is believed to have led to the mysterious disappearance of a key part of the marine food chain - the sandeel, the small fish whose great teeming shoals have hitherto sustained larger fish, marine mammals and seabirds in their millions.

In Orkney and Shetland, the sandeel stocks have been shrinking for several years, and this summer they have disappeared: the result for seabirds has been mass starvation. The figures for breeding failure, for Shetland in particular, almost defy belief.

I can't wait for Republiclones and other dipshit politicians to eat their fucking words on this issue. It has been all but 99.99 percent proven. Unfortunately, we will have to have a single catastrophic issue or event before they will start to "consider'the enironment as an issue.
