First off Anti is right, out of everyone Benoit deserves it, so what if he aint got good mic skills, honestly Id rather watch a benoit match then a cena promo + match. Its the new generation, they dont care about who can wrestle, history, etc.. They care about whats new and hot. Why do you think you hear boos when cena comes out, but whats louder? The chears from the little kids and women, I swear if im able to go to a raw show this year (if it comes to co) and my girl chears for cena im back hand her ass.
Another thing is GeeZus is right about edge, hes been thru alot and he is one of thoe guys who do deserve it to, cant take nothing away from him.

Sports ENTERTAINMENT. Benoit doesn't entertain like the other guys. Yes, he will provide you with a GREAT match, and he can go with the best of them, but he doesn't have that charisma or appeal like HHH, Taker, Hogan, Cena, The Rock, Stone Cold, HBK, Hogan or Warrior. How many of these guys can outwrestle benoit?
Let me ask you guys this, what can you put benoits face or likeness on that will sell? You can put Austin 3:16 or rattlesnake on something and it will go like hot cakes. You can put "You can't see me" on a T-shirt and it will go like hot cakes. What does benoit have that you can market to the majority of the wwe's demographic? Matt skills alone will not work, he'll never be a champ for longer than 3 months unless they redefine his character and come up with something marketable. IMHO, the best thing for him would be to go heel soon, and that is the only thing that will help him out.

These faggots forget that there should be a "Wrestling" theme to "World WRESTLING Entertainment." So keep supporting your Batistas (Ultimate Warrior rip off) and such. Benoit doesn't need a storyline. He goes out there, submits your ass, and leaves. The Undertaker used to cut the worst promos ever, Bret Hart struggled for awhile as well. Paul Heyman was the only one who ever even tried to give him a gimmick, WWE just uses him so they know Smackdown has a match worth watching... I swear you motherfuckers should be watching "Days of our lives" or some shit.
LoL fools all butthurt because benoit wasnt a draw. i never said he wasnt good. benoit had his shot, he wasnt the huge draw a champ should be. besides, smackdown has a good champ right now. edge is a great heel.

If I wanted to watch REAL wrestling I would tune in to any MMA/UFC/Pride or NCAA college wrestling event. Yes, there should be a wrestling "theme", but the draw for wrestling is the entertainment value. It is a "show", and if a person can't carry the show they usually aren't made the champ. People simply do not want to see benoit as champ. There is nothing remotely marketable about the guy (right now.) Again, what has he EVER said that you remember or that made you say "I gotta watch wrestling next week to see what he does"? NOTHING.
