NICOYA: as good as that sound, that is one of there only somewhat reliable pitchers. If that trade goes down, the average Giants game will end with both teams in double digits,

If the Midgets trade ortiz, that will be the worst mistake they will make! Trust me! They dont have enough pitchin as is!! And if they try to put Durham at CF, that will be tough, casuse thats a hard position for a infielder to play comin form the infield!! Besides catchin!! But well see!!

But nitro yea I know we trded Ordonez, but thats coo, cause he is the worst hitter Ive ever seen, and he was overrated as far as his defense with all those eras!! But we got a tight SS in the minors that Gammons said was the best minor leaguer that past 2 years!! So fuck it!! But we do need to replace Alfonzo!! GOT EM!!!

Also theres hella rumors going around the Giants will trade Russ Ortiz for JD Drew of the Cards OR Brian Giles from the Pirates!!
jd drew maybe but if you want giles your going to have to cough up alote more than russ ortiz. maybe russ ortiz and ainsworth or foppert at least . i mean people dont know about giles cause he is on a little unknown sucky team but he is one on the best outfielders in the national league

Giles is a SOLID .300+ 35hr+ 100rbi+ every year as well. Shit, if there going to touch there pitching, please send Livan down to Single-A baseball. Fuck what he did in 97, this is 2002 and the guy is through!

GOT EM!!!
yes it will because he is there best pitcher. but i think they are looking past this year and onto the future because they have ALOTE of great arms in their system especially at the top in Fresno AAA

yes he is a futile hitter

disagree, he has super defense but the Mets redid their infield at the start of last season and it was playing tricks on the infielders all year, i mean even Alomar a 10 time GGer made alote of errors

Jose Reyes is his name he is another rey ordonez only he hits a little bit better, he is young and can still develope but he wont be an offensive machine, he will be a sort of a pokey reese- ray durahm type player.

and about best minor leager. no, but he has been the best Mets prospect the past two years just not the all minors best player

I think Jason Schmidt is the Giants best pitcher. He is the most consistant in my mind. Ortiz is second, he has a tendancy to completely blow games before they start, but he will grow into a SOLID pitcher, i would hate to see him go.

you might of heard him wrong because it wore likely that he said reyes was the best minor leager in the mets farm stsyem

like i said earlier i as a matter of fact it was from peter gasmmons on baseball tonight when he said that the Mets had redone their infield and that the carpet grass is in rolls and that in between every roll they messed up and it was lumpy and that is why ordonez and alomar who are usually GG'ers made more errors than ever this

no, ortiz has been their most consistant pitcher since he came up from the minors. its just that jason schmidt got hot for about 2 months at the end of the year and that is what you are remembering. before he got hot he was very inconsistant and walked alote of batters, he wasnt any better when he was with Atlanta and Pittsburg either. i mean if he was a top pitcher Atlanta would never have traded him away, atlanta lives off of pitching

Actually Schmidt's first 6 decisions he went 4-2, his last 6 decisions, he went 4-2 and in between he went 5-4. Schimdt posted back to back loses only once last year, in both of those loses combined, the giants offense produced 1 run. Other then that, he has never had 2 losing games in a row. That is consistancy my friend.. Since being a Giant, he has gone 33-16.

As for Russ Ortiz. He posted back to back loses 4 times last year. You must have been talking about him getting hot only during the end. August 23, his record was 8-10, then the last 2 months he went 6-0. Want to talk about his Giants career? His rookie season he went 4-4, hes a rookie thats what you can expect. The next year he went 18-9, great year aside from his 125 walks. The next year he went 14-12, a not so good year, also had 112 walks. Next year he went 17-9, another good year and he got his walks under 100. Then last year he want 14-10, definatley not his best performance. Postseason? He lost his last 3 games.

Oh? Jason shmidt walked very few batters. Last year he walked 73 batters compared to Ortiz's 91. The year before that 61 to 91, and the year before that 61 to 112, all favoring Schimdt. Want to talk about him and Atlanta? That was almost 7 years ago and the barley let the guy pitch. He played 1 entire season there, they let him pitch in 9 games. The next year he played half the season and they traded him.

Let it be known, i like Ortiz and hes a great pitcher. I hope they do not lose him. Like i said, he will grow into a SOLID pitcher.

Yeah i like ortiz alot and hes going to be a great pitcher, but i dont consider him consistent. I watched alot of Giants games this year (and every year) and i dont feel comfortable with him on the mound, at any time during a game he can just lose the strike zone. He walks to many batters, and if he doesnt walk them he throws alot of balls. If he takes care of that he will be one of the elite pitchers in the game.

I will like the Alfonzo signing if they get another bat, but if the just leave it as is, i will be dissapointed. I think they will trade Ortiz for some kind of bat. If Ortiz does get traded i dont think the Giants will win in the playoffs this year, but there trying to build up there young pitching which could help them in years to come. Who knows what will happen though, you can never tell in baseball. What i do wanna see is Pedro Feliz getting a chance at third some time, because I really think he could be a hell of a player some day.
