the oppsition gruops were slaughter during the gulf war, leaving
no chance of toppling saddam...the sactions imposed on iraq made even other opposition groups very unlikly

1. because at the time iran was the enemy and he was fighting them

2. no they werent imposed to weaken the people they were imposed to weaken the evil government. its not all fault that the government uses what little income they are getting from their oil sales on trying to produce weapons of mass destruction instead of feeding its people.

3. if the inspections dont go threw its only because saddamn has something to hide and wont allow full access to the inspectors.
