Just like you, got love for anybody tryin to make thangs happen for tha region...

I don't believe that any serious-minded individual on this thread is trying to discredit the work that people have put forth in trying to make thangs happen for the bay...

It was probl'y a person (or a few) in a higher positon that decided to get all high n' mighty and unfairly eliminate an artist that wuz already on the ballot...

Those actions of a few, unfortunately, can justify what the other folks are saying on this thread...

I have never even heard Big Oso's music, but I feel wut his peoples are sayin' on GP...

I know that er'body doesn't get a fair shot in life, but c'mon, if he was already on the ballot? And according to the homie, Pure Life - leading in votes received? Pssssh! Everybody in the bay who gives a #*@% about any kind of industry should have an issue with this...

If we let this slide w/o speaking on it, then the powers that be within the BARS will feel free to get away with more $#!+ in the future... Corruption knows no limits when unchecked... It's like a cancer - kill it when it's first detected, cuz once it's too big... nothing can stop it...

The bay area has prided itself on being the independent hustlin' capitol in the rap game... So when something's trying to capitolize on that, don't be suprised when folcz speak on it.

I think what they are saying is they don't have enough security or insurance to cover what may happen if it turns into a Norteno vs. Sureno thing or some excuse for a gang shooting at the BARS awards. Then they will be shut down indefinitely by the City and this thing seems to be a cash cow for somebody.

i'll speak on it since this whole thing is about me. i ain't really trippen off of the whole deal..i just wanted an explination as to what i already thought was the case with me and the bars awards. and c jaymes called me and let me know what's up. and i felt that those who voted for me needed me to let them know what went down. if yall don't know who i am..i've been rappin in the bay for more then a few years now and am about to release my 6th album and i got a fanbase across the country and overseas in spots like poland, germany, japan and spain....a lot of folks in the bay don't really hear of me cause i don't do radio jams and i don't do that hyphy retard shit..i'm a vato from the streets of northern cali and i rap about what i know and that's 95% hardcore gangbang shit... that lifestyle isn't very popular around the bay right now due to the hyphy explosion.

i never really trip off of any awards or anything related to the rap game...cause i don't consider myself a rapper. in fact i really don't care too much about the rap game right now cause it's full of fake fucks who ain't about what they rappin about...you can ask about me in the bay industry and folks know who i am...but my reputation is mostly for being at functions and startin shit though...as goldtoes, ask thizz ent. , ask the gorilla pits, black mafia records..the list goes on. ask em about big oso loc man they all my folks and they all know what i'm about...i'm a gangster and that's what i am....i get hated on a lot when it comes to rappin because of my reputation for being the "gangster"..haha. i have a hard time performin at clubs, car shows, etc....fools be hatin, that's all i can say..the same "gangsters" that rap about hood shit be cryin when some hood shit goes down. a fool got smashed on at the bay area rap talk bbq a few years back and you wouldn't beleive the hardcore bay gangsters from some of the most notorius bay hoods that were literally cryin like bitches cause me and a couple homeboys smashed some fool...no guns or knives just a sucka gettin beat down and we were told to leave...that's just one out of a many incidents that have happend through the years..

man i apologize for the essay i just wrote but i wanted to get this off my chest. i don't need the bars awards or the radio for recognition and respect. i got respect from my homies and my hood and my family and those who know me from around. i got international recognition for my music...may not be on a huge level but i wasn't even expectin that when i started. i started rappin to put my neighborhood on the map. that's it. so i just wanted to let everybody know out there that i ain't trippin off this shit. it's just politics feel me and we all know how politics fuck with a lot of people. in the end i'm just happy to see other northerners on the nominee list...good luck to everybody that was nominated for best latin artist..i'm out much luv!!!!

I can see somewhat where they're coming from, I don't think it's cause he isn't "Doing the dummy retarded and riding the yellow bus", i see it as more of gang related, he makes gangster rap, or street rap and look where all the gangster rap lead to in the 90's I think they're just fearful of what could happen, shit look it the BET awards with Buck and the stabbing, they just have to be really careful with big events, they're responsible for all the people attending, on the other hand it's immoral to exclude someone because they're differnt or do differnt things it's discriminatory, i can understand their dilemma.

i didnt read all of the thread but however so far in my life as i followed my career path in music and startin in the bay,you start to see that their are two different worlds when dealing with bay area music, and alot of shit out here regarding the bay music industry is based on politics (who u kno) money becomes a factor aswell, back in the 90s alot of rap artist found it tremendously hard to find venues,and the only cats that would get to rock venues were hip hop artist,its a difference between rap and hip hop.i found out over time, wtf am i even talkin bout tho. i appreacite all forms of music, if cuzzo wants to rap about gangsta shit let him do his thing,its fucked up that they would (to my understanding) advertise oyur name for pp to vote for oyu but at last minute they remove u from whatever,iono.
