From what I understand, and it's confusing, they claim their gangs but BDs/GDs and other gangs will click up (the whole squad shit they talk about) because of the area they live in, been homies since they were young, go at gangs they are both rivals of etc. Like Fly Boy Gang is mostly GDs but there are some BDs in it. It seems mostly ever since they tore down most the projects out there in the late 90s/early 2000s everyone got spread out and that's just how it went with the younger generation.

I mean really in Cali Crip and Blood doesn't even mean much anymore either. You have Crip hoods that are cool with Blood hoods and rivals with other Crips and vice versa where as back in the day just being a Blood was enough to get you killed by a Crip even if your hoods weren't exactly rivals.
