NiNe2FiVe @NiNe2FiVe what's the average price for a good fade? I'm currently looking for a barber shop to start going to, my boy cuts in south sac but it gets pretty packed on the weekend and I don't want to hear a bunch if mexicans screaming nigga this and you feel me that, I live in a nice area and there's a few spots here but I think they charge a bit more, that's why I was asking the average price, there is a spot around the corner from me but they charge $18 that seems hella high, I usually go to the asian lady's and they only charge $6.99 but there fades are not that great ha ha.
Depends on the area.

For a good fade at an actual barbershop its gonna be $15-$20.

It just is what it is now, Sac, Oakland, San Jose, most major cities its gonna be around $18. A city on the outskirts or a suburb, Slandro, Hayward, etc, probably $12-$18.

And that's not bad, prices in the city are hovering around $35-$40.

I'd say a safe bet will be the $18 spot.

$7 is what we charged at the barber college.

You gotta understand the difference between the Supercuts and the Asian lady and a barbershop.

It's like your car: If you just have a Ford Taurus, and just need an oil change, Jiffy Lube is cool. They got one wrench to use on all the cars. They do a decent job, and you're on your way in 20 minutes.

But if you have a BMW, and you need a tune-up, you need to go somewhere that has a full tool box, with mechanics with expertise, a kinda place where you pay for a good job, and you hang out in the nice lobby eating free donuts, drinking free coffee, and watch TV.

You can come out to Oakland and I'm going to charge you $25.

I don't think the publics budget has caught up to the barbering renaissance of the last few years.

There once was a time you'd drop your shirts off to get pressed, then go to the barbershop for a cut, a shave, and a shoe shine. It was something that was planned into your budget and schedule every week.

With hair styles changing over the years, places like Great Clips getting popular, and peoples schedules becoming so jam packed with work and shit, people lost sight of the way it was and started getting used to $10 cuts that took 15 minutes.

The last couples years people have started coming back to the barbershop, people started getting into detailed cuts, shaves, and other hair treatments. The appeal of a male-oriented hang-out is getting people in. Gentlemen cuts and smooth fades are popular.

I think peoples expectations and the reality of the time and money that it requires aren't quite on the same page just yet.

The thing with the asian lady's is you get a little elbow action, back in the day when I was about 15 we had this spot with a super fine thick asian chick, we couldn't wait for our hair to grow back ha ha.
Lol.

I don't know man. I'm not rubbing anyone's shoulders.

You can find a fancy white folks wet shave spot, they'll massage you after the cut, and charge you $50+ lol...
