In my teens I used to pick cherries and it was me and one other white guy and 50 mexicans. We got paid per bucket I think like $3 a bucket. I could get like 2 an hour maybe 3 if the tree was packed but there were dudes there getting 7 buckets an hour. It was insane how fast they picked. All the mexicans brought their familys to the orchard and they all played while the parents picked. Then at lunch time the guys with the booming systems would pull their trucks up and blast music and bbq tacos and drink beer. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. It was one of the better jobs I had overall, if I could pick faster to actually make some money I might have stuck with it longer.
