if electronic cars are so great and the infrastructure to support them is growing enough then gas powered car will phase out by becoming obsolete and undesirable so i don't really see the point in banning them unless there's financial incentive somewhere along the line. and what about cars from out of state? and semi-trucks delivering goods into the state? are they exempt or what?
I think all of what you're saying is why there's a date 15 years away. 15 years is a long time for change. Think of the difference between 1975 and 1990. Or the difference between 1990 and 2005.

A lot can change in 15 years.

they can't even keep the lights on in lots of places. i saw some statistic like 70% of their power at one point during the blackouts was coming from a single nuclear power plant, more power from that single plant than all of their wind and solar combined, yet they want to get rid of it lol

imagine only being able to charge your car on a certain day of the week
