A lot of people are a mess.
A ton of people will keep burning banks by overdrafting a ton of money and not paying it back, then moving on to the next bank, over and over, until it gets to a point where banks won't let them open accounts anymore. Growing up around a lot of poor people I saw that shit all the time. It's why we still have check cashing places on every corner.
For like a decade those prepaid Visa cards people can get direct deposit on and load money on have been around, there's really no excuse for not having direct deposit at this point.
