Then whoever was driving mixerr around changes lanes to where people are merging on the freeway, causing even bigger slow downs

That traffic ain't shit. Worse traffic I've experienced in the United States was in New York, then Los Angeles. Plus none of that compared to traffic that I've encountered in Rome, London, or Manila.
