For the sake of argument, lets say that soccer players were running the entire game (which they're not), and didn't take a 15 minute half-time (which they do). One of a soccer apologists favorite sayings is "Soccer players run an equivalent to 5 miles during a game! So much endurance!"

Damn, no kidding? 5 miles over the span on 90 minutes, gee-whiz that's right around 4 miles an hour...what endurance of these magnificent athletes to be able to jog for an hour and half with a 15 minute break in the middle...
