yea its gonna be a good game. I was surprised to see Hamburg get beat so soundly by Rapid. You a hamburg fan?
I'm a Hamburg fan. Born and raised there. The Rapid game was fucked, but that game came at the right time. The team started to get too confident being No. 1 in the Bundesliga...

Problem Hamburg has now, that also Mladen Petric is injured. Now we only have Berg left, who still has to prove he was worth the 10 million...But I don't have a doubt that Hamburg will win either the Euroleague or the Bundesliga this season.

not really, i like Hamburg, but i root for every German team when it comes to international competition. And Hamburg usually plays some attractive Football, when they're healthy, that is.

^^ they've been struggling money-wise ever since they went public, and had to sell many of their best players. It's a shame that it has been so long that I've seen them compete internationally. They really have a great past. Anyone remember that Champions leaugue finale, when they beat Juve 3:1, and Lars Ricken, 18 at the time, scored a dream goal towards the end, after just being put in? Classic game. They also have a great fan base (all of their home games are basically sold out) and the best stadium and atmosphere in the world (capacity= 85.000) , according to the times, so yeah Borussia Dortmund would be a great gain for the Championsleague or Euro league. I hope they get their shit together this year, they've been kinda struggling since the beginning of the season again, but i do have faith in their coach, who's known as a great motivator. We'll see what happens.

yeah they were a great team, but again, when you have players like Rosicky you need to hold onto them at all costs, that guys was a machine.

and I remember all the finals there have been some great games, but you have to agree with me on this..

I loved watching football when players like Zidane, Ronaldo (the real ronaldo), Kluivert, Van Basten & Riijkaard played, that was the best time for me

Kluivert is my all time favourite footballer

Do you remember this goal?

Martin Tyler was commentating for us in that game, one of the best moments.

Yea Rosicky was/is a beast, but i think they HAD to let him go, for the sake of the player. He wasn't happy anymore in Dortmund and an unhappy player, no matter how talented he is, is only worth half as much. Oh and i completely agree with Kluivert and all the other players you mentioned, too bad he had to fight so many injuries during his career, he would have been even better, if it wasn't for his bad luck. Anyways, the WC in 98 is one of the best i've ever witnesses..so many great goals and games. Remember that Dennis Bergkamp goal against Argentina after that really long pass?
Fuck it's a shame that the superstars today gotta be some metro sexual faggots like Christiano Ronaldo, who are praised more for their marketing ability than their actual contribution to the sport. Yea, Ronaldo is still a great Player, but i think one gets the point. Like take David Beckham, the guy was great with free kicks and still is a good scorcher, but other than that he has and always will be a bum.
I really hope Messi lives up to the hype and develops well as a player, he does seem like a humble dude and loves the sport for what it is, not for the money he can make in it.

Oh man I remember that, WC 98 was the shit! A lot of drama in the final too, Ronaldo getting a fever or someshit like that..

What I remember the most is the Italy vs France game in that WC, Baggio (favorite player of all time) had a chance in extra time to put France away but a magnificent save (or was it the post?) denied him...

I agree 100% with you on that.

Kluivert was fucked over in the national team and they started that fuck NOSE vanNOSEtilroy...unbelievable..

Bergkamp was a freak, WC 98 was mad..damn can't wait for 2010

bekham is a gimmick, I have never rated that cunt, they only got him to LA so he can sell shirts. fuck the fake ronaldo too, all hairstyles fixing his hair diving like a bitch, he doesn't need to do it but I hate him for it and will never rate him as a great player, hes a show pony and I hope someone breaks his fucking legs, ala roy keane on haaland lol

What do you think of Ballack? I like him and he is comedy as well, this will never get old lol

^^that game was the epitome of rigged and why I don't watch club football much anymore

another thing to Dali, what I like from Germany is they have gotten away from that computer defensive style from back in the day, much more attacking football, unlike the faggot italians..

USA '94 was the best WC I've ever seen, and I was only 8 years old. I remember it perfectly, game by game. The best game of the tourny was Brazil vs Netherlands when Branco scored a free kick to win the game 3-2 I believe.

Brazil almost tied USA if it wasn't for Bebeto's goal at the end, that was a good game.

I remember Mexico fuckin up in PK's (what's new) against Bulgaria, and I remember R. Baggio being a fuckin savage that no one could stop. Brazil had Bebeto, Romario, Dunga, Tafarel at keeper, they were fuckin stacked! USA had some UGLY ass jerseys that year too. How I miss those days!

We have a pretty balanced team right now. I think that's why we can be a little more aggressive! Defense is solid, though a little shaky at times, but it's because we're still trying to figure out the perfect starting defense for the WC. Italy has one of the best defenses in the world, but they don't really have much going on in the offense and it's an aging team, i think they need a fresh start and a handful of new young player.

The German team is not too old, and you have a couple of experienced players, some of them even young players themselves (Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Lahm) who can help integrate the new ones. The average age right now is 25! It's good to still have older players like Ballack, because you need experience to win the WC. And most importantly a leading figures and he can fulfill this role as the captain. He is getting old, though. Still a dangerous striker, world class header, and he has the ability to lead and coordinate the game, even though has never been a real No.10. I think South Africa will be his last Big Tournament. It's his last chance to actually WIN a a WC/EC and not just to get put up with the silver or bronze medal.

Midfield is strong and just gained some creativity with Özil, Trochowski, and Marin, who are still developing and all have great offense qualities! The offense alone is on an international level, but lacks some creativity, if you ask me. Podolski is good, but he's not a full blooded striker, coming more from the midfield. Klose is experiences and ALWAYS good for a goal, i do have my doubts about Gomez, though, i don't like his style, he comes across too static and he needs hella chances to make a goal. I wish we would have some dribbling striker for once, but that shit is not really a common German trait :/ althoug most of our strikers have foreign roots anyways.

It's good to know we got some raw diamonds coming up, too. Our youth teams have been beasting lately, U19 won the European Championship last year, the U21 won it this year and so did the U17! Our U20 was on its way to this years WC finale, but they lost against Brazil in a close eight final match up. Future for German Football looks quite bright right now *knocks on wood*

Fuck i can't wait for the World Cup! By far the greatest sports event in the world!! And i agree, 94 was a perfect WC, not for Germany, but overall just full of tension and great games. 2002 kinda sucked, even though Germany took 2nd, 2006 was awesome again, some memorable moments, just remember Zidane!! I hope next years is gonna be crazy!!

We should get rid of Ballack, seriously. Add Mueller and Kiessling, get rid of Gomez and Cacau. Boateng (despite his yellow/red card) should start! Get rid of Friedrich!
