My thought right now, as much as I love pac he aint beating mayweather. And as much as i like that fight, I think mosley just might get the shot at floyd first. And who can say he doesn't deserve it? And who can say it wouldn't be a HARDER fighter than Pac??!?

Floyd UD over Mosley
Floyd TKO over Pac
This was exactly the intention of this fight. It seems like he beat Pacquiao without ever having to fight him. People always seem to get hyped up over something that was supposed to happen. I didn't expect Mayweather to beat him so bad but 24/7 did an excellent job of convincing people that Marquez had a chance in hell.

I bet I can go through most people's posts after Pacquiao beat Hatton and people would be saying the same shit in reverse. Taylor beat Hopkins twice (arguably yadda yadda), Pavlik then goes and beats Taylor twice making obvious logic that Hopkins wouldn't have much of a chance Pavlik and Hopkins goes and completely shuts out Pavlik. If Taylor/Hopkins III were to happen it would be just as close, just as slow paced and just as tough for both fighters BECAUSE STYLES MAKE FIGHTS.

Fighter a beating fighting b when fighter c fought tough with fighter a has nothing to do with fighter c vs fighter b.

No it's not watching this fight would of let you know that of top. Marquez was giving pac man a run for his money. No run for any money tonight just a good old fashion ass whooping. I want to see mayweather,mosley.... I predict mayweather is going to whoop pac man and mosley then retire in peace
You guys seem to forget people change over a period of time. Pac has gotten better as a fighter.
Its funny you make opinions off of fighters and how they would go against each other based off of how they fought one guy. Like I said before people change.
I'm not hating on Mayweather I think he had a good fight for just coming out of retirement.

mosley would fuck up mayweather. undefeated does'nt measure a great fighter look at roy jones his first loss devestaded him, and never was the same. i would measure a great fighter on how he handles a loss, molsely lost i think twice in a row by knock out and and came back and won the rest impressively. he looked like nothing happened.

lets see how floyd would react to his first loss. trust me it hurts (by personal experience) a streak like that hurts when you win it all and lose just once for the first time.

mosley looks taller and bigger with his shirt on and everything. i always wanted to see pac against mosley but i would much rather see him against floyd after seeing that confrontation in the ring. that was more exciting than the fight.

a loss then a match with pacquiao would set him up for another one.

my opinion. no hate.

Look at these numbers:

Total Punches for Mayweather:
290 landed out of 493 thrown (59%)

Total Punches for Marquez:
69 landed out of 583 thrown (12%)

Power Punches for Mayweather:
185 landed out of 316 thrown (59%)

Power Punches for Marquez:
21 landed out of 288 thrown (7%)

This was exactly the intention of this fight. .

Am I wrong though? I mean I know how boxing works and styles make fights, and I'm well aware Pac is a completely different animal than marquez. But seriously, floyd is the best. Pac I think would be a bit too small, floyd would be too much, his defense is just too hard to crack.

And for the comment made about floyd fighting at 154, uh who is there? Sergio Mora? lol there is reason floyd is fighting who he's fighting, they are the biggest names in boxing.

Mosley would be a good fight though and that would prove a lot. I hope he fights him and pacquiao next.

^~~ I think Floyd would crush Pacquiao but I didn't need to see this fight to say it .. I've been saying it since people started talking about it. If you thought Pacquiao had a chance before this shouldn't be the fight to change your mind because Marquez and Pacquiao fight nothing alike.

Marquezs' problem in this fight was that his style of fighting is much closer to Mayweathers then it is to Pacmans and Mayweather is ridiculously better at it then Marquez is, he's bigger and he's better and the things that Marquez isn't that good at. It was a terrible style match up from jump street.

Ha, you guys need to make sure Manny gets by Cotto first.

I've always hated these fabricated/unecessary "major PPV" events like this. It screws everything up and everyone argues about things to no avail.

Floyd took more money and fought the easier opponent. He has done that his whole career. I don't blame him one bit. I have come around to see how smart the guy is and don't want to bash the guy anymore, he's doing the right thing. Only because the fans allow him to.

Well, Mayweather hadn't fought in 2 years so there were some questions and he definitely proved he hasn't lost a step.

Marquez called out Mayweather and Mayweather only fought at 154 because De La Hoya's faggot ass wanted the fight at that weight... 147 is Floyd's weight. And Shane couldn't even beat Winky...

Mayweather - Mosley > Mayweather - Pacquiao

As much as I would love to see Pacquiao and Floyd fight, I've been wanting to see the Mayweather-Mosley matchup for years. I think that was a genius move by Shane stealing some of the spotlight from Floyd, which was probably the only way to get Floyd to fight him, at this point.

Floyd said that Marquez called him out, and he gave him a fight, so there should be no reason why he shouldn't make a fight with Mosley.

I'm really hoping they can get this fight made for early 2010.

Its funny Mosley all of a sudden wants to fight Floyd, hes been ducking him for years and i remember when they asked him at the end of one of his fights like 3 years ago if he wants to fight Floyd he said "Im not ready yet" which means he knows he has no chance at beating Mayweather

^^he also turned down a floyd fight cuz shane said he had a toothache!

So the way I see it when Mosley was on top he didn't want anything to do with floyd. Now he desperately wants a big payday fight and he's trying.

The past is the past, I don't care what happened, a Floyd-Shane fight would be awesome. But Floyd is in a tricky spot because the vast majority of the people want him to fight Pacquiao. If he does, and wins, people will say he yet again beat a smaller man and he ducked shane. If he fights shane people say he's ducking pacquiao. Damned if he does damned if he doesn't type deal.

Yeah, very true 2-0.

But I don't think that Floyd's ego and pride will allow him to avoid the Mosley fight. For whatever reasons, we never got to see the Mosley-Mayweather fight over the years, and it sucked for fans.

I remember this fight being talked about before the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight, and even then thought it was long overdue.

Hopefully we can see this fight, and the winner getting the winner of Pacquiao-Cotto in the summer of 2010.

well I'm not sure how long mosley is willing to wait for floyd's answer because its very likely he will fight Andre Berto for a unification bout in Jan.

Berto vs. Mosley for Jan. 30th – Unless “Money” Steps In

By T.K. Stewart

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, has told BoxingScene.com that there is a tentative deal in place for a welterweight unification bout to take place on Jan. 30 between WBA titlist Shane Mosley and WBC belt-holder Andre Berto.

That is unless Floyd Mayweather, Jr. decides that he may want to face either of the two fighters in the meantime.

Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather's advisor and CEO of Mayweather promotions, told BoxingScene.com that he believes a bout between his man and Shane Mosley is one that will take place.

“I think they will eventually fight,” said Ellerbe. “If you're asking me when, I don't know.”

At last night's post fight press conference after his unanimous decision win over Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather said, “All roads lead to me.”

It is doubtful that Mayweather and his promotional team are going to wait around to decide on their next opponent until the winner of Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto is decided on Nov. 14.

Of his future, Mayweather told the assembled media last night, “I will sit down in the next couple of weeks with Al [Haymon] and Leonard and my team, my father and we'll talk about what's next.”

If Mayweather were to lose to Sugar Shane, the fight with Pacman would never take place, so if I was him, I'd go dispatch Pacquiao first and get the money, then come back and get more money by fighting Mosley or Cotto. After how he destroyed Marquez, I don't realistically see Pacman wanting any part of Mayweather. Shit Pacman may have bitten off more than he could chew by fighting Cotto. All the hype from the De La Hoya fight has set him up to get injured badly by one of the legitimate, bigger and stronger fighters. If Cotto can handle Mosleys speed, Pacman speed should be no problem. Pacman aint knockin out Cotto. Though I think Mosley beat Cotto, he couldn't knock Cotto out. Shit it took almost 12 rounds for Margarito to do it and Pacman aint nowhere near as strong as Margarito or Mosley. If they can happen, I'll take any of these matches (Fuck how much either fighter gets paid)

Mayweather vs. Mosley
Mayweather vs. Clottey
Mosley vs. Clottey
Mosely vs. Spinks
Mayweather vs. Spinks
Mosley vs. Cotto Pt. 2
Cotto vs. Clottey Pt. 2
Mayweather vs. Cotto
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao (just to shut up any Pacman fan who really thinks Pacman has a chance)

I personally don't think Berto is ready for the top dogs. I want to see him give Collazo a rematch, since I think Collazo edged him out. Mosley will fight Berto because he knows he can beat him. Berto's boxing skills are still too raw for a crafty veteran like Mosely or Mayweather. They'll expose him for being just a puncher with limited Boxing skills.
