What do you mean by "shitty" quality? The end output is pretty much the same with any piece of software. It's not like they add anything in the code that will color the audio in any way. If that was the case, FL would not get praise on professional audio sites like KVR-audio. The same snare sample will sound the same whether it's triggered in FL Studio or Cubase. Anyways, I think choosing your sequencer of choice is all a matter of personal preference. Obviously some programs are better suited for certain things, as I personally would not use FL to record vocals with, rather go with something like Adobe Audition, Cubase or something with better waveform displays. I also don't like editing samples within FL, I'll rather do it with a program like Audition as well, something more visual and more options, rather than use Edison in FL. Your best bet is laying off the built-in sounds that FL has, use your own shit. There's much better quality sounds out there besides the ones that FL comes with. I think FL comes with those sounds just for the fact that they don't want to push out a program that's blank. So I see it as there just putting in those sound as a template just to fill some space and show you what FL can do. There's a reason why it comes with template songs, because they use those built-in samples to show you how to use the program. Just gut the program of that shit and your set. Build up your own sample kits, plugins n shit.

i used to fuck with FL everyday but i realize that the sound quality werent sharp enuff/proper studio quality when i compared the FL beats to industry beats... i now use Reason to make beats and i gotta say the quality on that program is waaaay better then FL... the only good thing about FL is that they got good synths/drums but thats bout it...

The sounds aren't bad quality in my opinion, they just sound a little thin. But so does Reason's sounds. I think it all comes down to who is willing to spend time learning the different effects cause a friend of mine uses reason and knows the effects and the different module things in and out and his shit sounds good (quality wise at least...his shit is wack though lol)

well the best way i can discribe the difference between FL & Reason is that reason has more realistic sounds and FL you have to EQ alot shit on each fucking instruments so yeh if your going to use FL just use VSTi Plugins as Inasence said...

I can't stand Fruity Loops. From the Step Sequencer, to the Playlist, to the irregular terminology the program uses, I just don't like it it's not on the professional level I'm looking for in a DAW. It's easy to use, and good for beginners and even a few veterans, but not my flavor. Cubase SX 3 all the way.

I do like the company Image Line though.

i cant even figure out how to arrange a beat on it where its like 8 bar intro 8 bar hook 16 bar verse 8 bar hook - standard arrangement just seems way too difficult on reason i can do it in like 2.2 seconds

He's A Rock-N-Roll Gangsta...... Man Fruity Loops for bustaz....And I do not remember what program my boy used on this beat I got from him, but he used all VSt's with the Mpc 4000 as the sequencer.as always...and the guitar is like nothing Ive ever heard...and he showed me the program and its a must have..It was a breeze to change every not on these arpeggiators and create new shit, I know this can be done with similar shit, but not in the ease of use and..quality.

damn why so much hate on fruity loops? ihavent used anything else but fruity loops (which is maybe why im oblivious to the hate) and i get some quality shit imo. just look at my sig (not the video, the links). like inasense said, plugins. but then again i do beats as a hobby and dont have many plans for it in the future except maybe a side hustle.

That's pretty wack that you removed my post "Sick Wid It," I was trying to prove a point that YOU CAN actually make FL sound pretty good and realistic. It's not like a made a separate thread "Listen to my new beat," it was just a single post within my OWN thread, so it ain't offending anyone or disrupting the thread. The discussion is on FL8, not hardware vs. software, FL8 vs. Cubase/ProTools/Reason/Logic,... so there's no arguements going on, so why even erase my post? It would be cool if you could bring the post back. The only ones saying negative things are those about Fruity Loops. So they can voice their opinions on some harsh shit like say "FL is for bustaz" and instigate to disrupt the flow of the thread, yet someone who's trying to backup FL in a cool non-aggressive way, can't be heard?

It's cool, if your bias against FL Studio, just say it. Just say it's wack, that's why I deleted your link. Cuz I really don't understand how I can spam my own thread, especially when it's on topic and dedicated to FL users. Whatever though, the majority wins, FL Studio sucks ass.

What's wrong with Rock music? Is it WPS or what? I don't get your point. I like A LOT of different genres of music, not just Rap.

yea i dunno about removing peoples shit i know sick wit it removed a beat of mine and i think its because i said i was using a waves plugin and he probobly figured i had a bootleg waves plugin - now at that im not mad cuz i do have a bootleg waves plugin haha. but when you just remove a beat someone puts up becasue they "post too many of their beats" thats just wack. this is supposed to be a place where people share there ideas and knowledge and help each other out its not like hes in the bart forum posting 3 threads a day or anything the studio forum has barely any people as it is.

thats not true... different programs do color the audio differently..the way they process the audio is different from program to program....

if i can find the link where i saw all the "daw" programs compared ill show you.. but fruity was a little darker and thinner then cubase and pro tools

I understand that the forum rules, state this is not a place to post beats, however with zshare links I dont think its that big a deal.. especially if it pertains to a topic. I realize there is a thread in the forum for this, however topics are always changing even though they may revolve around fruity loops and reason all the time or how to get them funky beats as explained by booboo....
