What's with that phone call from the PD about the CD cover?

EDIT: LOL, you just edited your post and mentioned this too....
I really don't know Cranky. I know it almost sounds like the news report and the phone call could go together but they really don't. It was the summer of 2000 a few months after "Money Motivated" dropped and them guys were out there on 85th & Aurora doin' so much dirt that the police had found out about the album because of the fliers the guys always had on them. Matter of fact...there was an incident where YG Red was gettin' harassed by the SPD and he was throwin' the fliers at them. Next thing you know they're callin' me askin' for a copy of the album. I'm sure it's because I spent hundreds of dollars saving them the trouble of gettin' pictures of them taken out on the block. And then even put their street names on there too. Yeah...it seemed like a great idea at the time. lol

The "Redlight" chorus is one of Smoke's lines from the "I'm Still High" song from Money Motivated.

I changed the "Mob Cutz Muzik" beat a couple years ago because Skunt made the original and he didn't want BD rappin' over his beat.
Thought so, it was fuckin with me for a second...And that's what I was getting at as far as Mobcutz goes, I was half expected that Skunt beat, but all 3 versions that I've heard are tight...

COLA and MD would have made some good shit together I bet, but he ate them up on that track...There's almost no comparison to COLA's verse and brazy and dub's....Not sayin they weren't tight, but COLA ripped the track into microscopic pieces compared to them.

And thanks for the cuts...I'm on a mission to find a person with a working cd burner.

How come you didn't drop a verse on any of those songs D-Sane?
Hmmm...I dunno. Never thought about it. Most of the tracks were originally for one person's solo album or another and they were already done...so it didn't make much sense to go in there and mess with them. The only songs that have been changed from their original format is the new beat on "Mob Cutz Muzik" and COLA's verse on "No Slack." Everything else is in it's original form from the day we recorded it.

This album absolutely blew me away, could it be any fuckin better. This shit is Untouchable, has to be the best album i have heard in years which is hard for me to say because i am completely Bay Area biased. But D Sane got me lovin this NW shit. Production is straight fire D. and i must add i have been in the rap scene and listening to this music for ever, i have thousands of albums from every part of the country, and out of all the production out there i gotta say D Sanes is at the top of my list. If i ever finished my album and had the scrill to break em off with i would definitely fuck with D Sane.

Bottom Line
Thanks for the album
Good Shit

Thanks for the review Samos...I appreciate you takin' the time to do that.

That intro is actually from an incident that 2 members of the crew were involved in...they will remain nameless at this point. I actually knew everybody involved though...the shooters and "the intended victim."

The "Redlight" chorus is one of Smoke's lines from the "I'm Still High" song from Money Motivated.

I changed the "Mob Cutz Muzik" beat a couple years ago because Skunt made the original and he didn't want BD rappin' over his beat.

And the COLA verse was recorded in 2003 if I remember correctly. He loved that song and it needed a verse so I let him get on it. As you can see he got on there and gassed Brazy & J-Dub IMO.

OH! And I let Smoke Dog kick off the album with "My Click" because he's the one who came up with the name of the group and has always repped it hard.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Seattle Police phone call...that's a real phone call.
It's no problem!

I was going to mention it but I didn't completely grasp it at first, I knew it was real, but I don't know the story behind it, that shit is crazy though. Same with that news clip.

I recalled that line from "I'm Still High" also, it was the "I take tokes with my folks" line thatc aught my attention. I love that line in "I'm Still High", it's classic.

SHIT'S GANGSTA!

Anyways D-Sane I think your bandwidth is going to run out on your website.

You should make this thread a sticky after everyone is done soaking it up, after it drops a few places, make it a sticky. It'll be awhile though.

How is it that D-Sane can give us a free album, and it's probably the fuckin' tightest album I've heard this year? That's just not right......
