I think it's dangerous because electricity is a very shaky thing.
Look at the black out in the Northwest.
If we have a culture that depends on electricity for it's survival then it's only a matter of time.
It will be like a ticking bomb....

As for the space elevator. Fuck that shit!
I don't even use our elevators here at work.
Not after that one cat got decapitated....
