i read this article called "broken detroit: death of a city block" a little while ago... it talks about how a neighborhood went to complete and utter shit over in as little as 20 years (1950-1970) and beyond.... great article... too bad the stupid ass people who run that website took it down.

its fucked up, and on top of that the schools are in major debt but it wasn't like the kids were learning a lot anyway. its another endless cycle out here.
Trapped them in? What exactly do you mean by that? Last time I checked, people were free to "move about the country".
And it was not just the 12th St. Riot, it was also Court Ordered Busing. Kids were ordered to go to certain schools in order to desegregate them, regardless of Geographic Location.
after all the white people left, you already know the black people weren't about to move along with them. didn't this same shit happen all across the country?
