i've been a fan of dr. dre's music since he was with the World Class Wreckin Cru.........

his body of work speaks for itself........

he will be soon be a 50 year old-man.......

after a run with Ruthless Records, Deathrow Records, developing Eminem, Fiddy, and The Game, he has earned the right to fall back and enjoy......... LIFE

(didn't one of his son's die??? that would be enough to reevaluate life priorities...)

I feel where most of the hate is comin from but yall gotta understand that Dre is in a hard situation. The dude then been through a lot of personal shit but still managed to make hits. Typically, when big time celebs go through traumatic experiences, they fold out of hollywood.

Dre situation... the man is a perfectionist and is fighting for his reputation. Dre is hellbent on being consistent and will not just give us, the fans, somethin half ass. he doin what he can considering his situation, I think he is in dire need for a little bit more respect and understanding.

this is the muthafucca that said "let me ride" "fuck the police" "i just wanna fuck" "you cant turn a ho to a housewife"

this is the same brotha that worked with eazy &cube, 50 cent, eminem, Game, snoop & death row, 2pac, mary j blidge, Devin.

Dre is the man that told the whole world that smokin Chronic is ok,, how precious California is, and most of all that gangsta rap is here to stay.

he a grown man with problems like all of us, he cant put all of the west coast on, he fighting for his legacy

i read a interview and he said his music starts sounding the same and hes ready to quit
no u read an article that said "Staying motivated over the years has been a struggle for Dre, who told XXL that there were moments where he almost gave up on Detox. “I’ve been through that thing several times, where I’m like, ‘You know what? I quit. I’m not doing this. Everything is starting to sound the same.’”"

daz made the chronic & scott storch made 2001.

sooooooooooo

are you taking away credit from Dr. Dre or just acknowledging that daz and scott storch contributed to the creativity of the chronic & 2001

because that is already a well known fact.........

u forgot about mel-man also contributing to 2001 and DJ yella contributing to the N.W.A. catalog......:eyecross:

tI hear what licwit is saying but there's beat makers and producers, like Quincy jones. Theres niggas like Prince who write and dictate, and theres people like James BROWN (RIP) who dictate. that dont take away from them just because they didn't exactly write it, they have the vision and can masterfully put together a song that a beat maker may just make a somewhat slappin beat out of. Producers can be like a camera man or a director, Dre is more like a director he got the whole crew working right to make blockbusters under his direction.

i can dig that, but WHERE'S THE PROPS!!!!!
i mean, if you got somebody building foundations for you on a daily basis, layin down these sicc ass ideas, and you never give them credit?
i mean i aint one of those "dre need to put the west on" niggas
cuz I already know that this nigga don't give a fucc about the west coast
but shit building and building on top of other people's dreams and NEVER PUTTING THEM ON
i mean, i dont expect dre to give a fucc about me but what about the people that created his albums?
wheres the loyalty?
if he dont even give THEM their props, you know he doesn't give a fucc about the outcome of this west west shit
and thats what it all boils down to
west coast shine
we want ours
and i want to see some loyalty and determination
ice cube dont be puttin hella niggas on
but he ALWAYS puttin the west on the front page, with EVERYTHING he does
i probably feel so strongly cuz I aint a dre fan, im a cube fan
and without eazy and cube, dre would have been nothing
all that party music fag shit
and lipsticc instead of diccies and carharts

sometimes i feel like dre is a waste of talent. i mean, when you have somebody like rakim signed to your label like that, you should be doing hella shit. but i think my issue mainly is that he didn't put out a lot of shit. from 92 to what 97-98 or whatever to 01 to now? he's done stuff in between but while it was successful, it wasn't much when you think about it. and i still think him and cube shoulda still did that helter skelter. that was a big disappointment.

dre never was or never will be a gangster, i think that life scares the shit outta him

dre should be scared of real gangsters.....

real gangsters do real gangster shit....

he's a music producer/businessman/family man......

why would he sacrifice his music reputation/business/family for something that isn't beneficial to him???????

i think he's a smart person to leave the Gangsterdom to the gangsters, while he sticks to music..........

maybe the gangsters should stop trying to do music and just concentrate on being gangsters......:cheeky:

ALL GOOD HOMIE, I JUST LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, ITS NOT THAT BIG OF AN ISSUSE TO ME, I JUST TRY TO SHEAD SOME LIGHT ON HOW ALL THIS PRODUCER BUSINESS WORKS, ITS THE SAME IN THE FILM INDUSTRY, YOU ONLY CREDIT THE DIRECTOR AND THE ARTIST,

PERSONALY I WAS HOPING FOR SOME REAL POSITIVE SPIRTUAL MESSAGES FROM THIS ALBUM NOT THE SAME OLD GANGSTER STUFF, LIKE IT OR NOT MUSIC IS ALL THAT ALOT YOUNG BLACKS HAVE FOR DIRECTION IN LIFE,
THE "DETOX" I FELT SHOULD HAVE SOME EARTH WIND & FIRE TYPE VIBES TO IT, DRE HAS ALWAYS HAD THE ABILITY TO CHANGE THE DIRECTION IN HIP HOP AND A POSITIVE MESSAGE COULD CHANGE THE WAY PEOPLE DO MUSIC AND WHAT RADIO PLAY ASWELL

that just sounds RETARDED

tripped out shit is, interscope records (father of aftermath?) requested me on twitter...i be talkin hella shit too...

dres strong point is his mixing/engineering. outside of that, hes using ghostriders, ghost beat makers, and everything.

but with that said, does that count as 'putting people on' ?

i agree with him. his shit all do sound the same now. and he knows it. the truth is dre is damn near afraid to drop his shit right now and ruin is track record. cuz if his new shit dont pop his music career is technically a wrap.

its like george foreman getting back in the ring at 50. this is your last shot....if it dont work, back to george foreman grills (beats by dr dre)

what dre should do imo, is stop using every piece of equipment hes using, and use some new shit. start sampling again for fun or some shit. put yaself in a new surrounding with new interests. fuck around with some live instruments. pick up the turntables again.... listen to some different shit. the problem is hes sittin in his big ass studio doin the same shit, smokin the same weed from the same weed grower he had since the chronic. same yes men coming around, same homies...same people rappin same ppl at the studio workin on it..change that shit the fuck up.

dre is smarter than that. but i think his main problem is, hes pigeonholed himself to do a specific type of thing. and he probably feels as if he dosent have much room to create with all the critics, he literally has to cookie cut...and that could definately get boring.

no one wants to create the same album, over again. and the only thing people want detox for, is 'a recreation of the chronic album'. if its anything less than that, chances are itll get negative feedback.

so, what is he to do?
to me dre cant do shit. because what hes gonna do is try to stick to something authentic. instead of possible suprising us, working with people we never expected him to work with, giving us some suprises and shit. nah he in the studio with that same damn piano shit...man that sounds played the fuck out....he need to step up his swag and recreate his sound..
and scrap that gay ass idea about making an album based on planets/outer space...lets stick to trying to produce shit for earth before you start venturing to saturn and shit.

we wanna hear DRE...not 70 ghostwriters and producers...we all know why its taking so long...he scurred....thats why the nigga still thinkin bout quitting at this point..

like i said he needs to turn it up a notch and get creative..go back to the drawing board...cuz IMO id respect a 'creative fail' from dre more than im gonna respect a "i tried my best to do what i know how to do and yall are bored with that shit" if he had a creative fail moment, i could see that as a do over cuz he was trying something new, but if he tries to recreate that old dre sound and no ones fuckin with it, hes a wrap.

and id personally appreciate no eminem on dres album....i know its not gonna happen....but....for real....no eminem

every tester dre has thrown out was weak....even the songs that got 'leaked' that caused dre to spazz and drop epople from labels...all the people hes signed since, from MOP to Rakim Balance etc etc etc..nothing ever dropped....and you know exactly why....hes in a creative slump...those were moments of dre attempting to try something different and he eventually realized the shit was wack...

financially it seems this is the west coasts 'golden goose egg'...im guessing they wanna pull in as much $$$ as they can from this one as possible....so itll drop....but i bet you it wont drop without a small amount of media drama....somethings gonna get cooked up to make people wanna go buy it..but its ALSO going to be a bootleg nightmare due to dre taking a decade plus...so at this point im sure dre is asking himself 1) is it even worth it? and 2) why?

dres done his thing, he technically may only owe us detox due to all the talking hes done, but im feeling as if this is dres 'contractual agreement' album...like hes only dropping it because were talking so much shit...i dont even feel as if dre cares about his own album.....seems more like he just wants to get it out of the way so he can relax..

and i dunno what 'detox' was supposed to be about but didnt eminem lightweight already do that with his last two albums? from reading eminems interview about the 'recovery' album thats what it was.
