My first rap album I bought was

Above The Law- Livin Like Hustlers

Damn I used to bump it everyday. I don't have it anymore but whenever I see it I always think about re-buying it......."Freedom of speech" was my jam in 3rd grade! Haha

Mine was Bone E1999 Eternal that came out in July 1995. I remember it was between Bone or Too Short CD, the one that had Gettin' It on there. My homie who was a huge Bone fan persuaded me to get it, although I couldn't have gone wrong either way.

I fucking loved that Bone CD.

I remember the first rap cd I ever bought waz 2Low's cd Funky Lil Brotha. I bought it in early 1994 when I waz a sophmore in HS.

Almost 300 cd's later & I still got it & Itz still in pretty good condition. Before I ever bought a cd I owned tonz of tapez & some recordz too. My brother way back then told me 2 get rid of them cuz pretty soon everything iz gonna be on cd & tapez are gonna be gone 4 good. He waz right too.

Does anyone else still got the first cd they ever bought or even remembers the first one?

HA, we are going back some time here, but I know I'm not alone when I say I've had parents throw out albums of mine as a youth.

Years ago I was sent to a church camp, wasn't even a member of the church, and I brought a little boom box. I had a DJ jazzy jeff and the fresh prince tape, and the youth counselor confiscated my tape, saying, " Oh, I've heard about them" Looking back, that guy was an ignorant douche.

and a kings of rap compilation
that had like a gold statue of dmc on the front. that tape had classic shit like

method man - tical
k-dee - ass, gas, or cash

I can defenitly relate 2 what your saying. Anybody that grew up in the eighty's & early 90's went thru the parentz throwing they tapez/recordz/cd's in the trash. I went thru that shit myself & 4 anyone(esp the youngstaz of 2day) that aint gone thru that shit let me tell u........that shit hurts hella bad. I grew up in the generation where the kidz had 2 fight 4 hip hop 2 be heard & excepted. I think those were rougher timez. Everybody I knew who listened 2 gangsta rap when I waz growing up parentz permanently banned that shit from the house. Catz 2day got it easy when it comez 2 hip hop. I see younger catz of 2day get off easy cuz they parentz listen 2 hip hop. When I waz comin up a personz parentz that listen 2 hip hop esp gangsta rap waz unheard of.
