hahah.. i love these type of people...

i'm really going to give you some ammo with this one; i'd hate to site a movie but it does have some meaning to it.

A FEW GOOD MEN

Son, we live in a world that has walls.
And those walls have to be guarded by men
with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You,
Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater
responsibility than you can possibly
fathom. You weep for Santiago and you
curse the marines. You have that luxury.
You have the luxury of not knowing what I
know: That Santiago's death, while tragic,
probably saved lives. And my existence,
while grotesque and incomprehensible to
you, saves lives.
You don't want the truth. Because deep
down, in places you don't talk about at
parties, you want me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code,
loyalty...we use these words as the
backbone to a life spent defending
something. You use 'em as a punchline.
I have neither the time nor the
inclination to explain myself to a man who
rises and sleeps under the blanket of the
very freedom I provide, then questions the
manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer
you just said thank you and went on your
way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a
weapon and stand a post. Either way, I
don't give a damn what you think you're
entitled to.

Hopefully today's not the day you get called away from your model fiance to go kill Iraqis, so that they can be "free." You can finish your book in between insurgent attacks on your convoy, or as the war machine likes to call them, "groups of liberated Iraqis showing their love for americans." :siccness: :dead: :siccness: :dead:

My job isn’t to liberate or to be a humanitarian. It is simply mission accomplishment. If successfully accomplishing my mission means killing Iraqi’s who are too primitive and so untouched by democracy they cannot fathom the ideals of a free world, its simply that: I will kill them and completely indulge myself with a joyous fever. OUT

So is your definition of primitive for the Iraqis, that they are illequiped to kill as many people as we can?...Let democracy and freedom reign from the muzzle of an M-16. Maybe we should all carry machine guns around in the streets of the US...that way we can feel as free/democratic/liberated as the Iraqis do...god they are so lucky that we're there. I wish Bush would declare marshall law so we could all feel so lucky.

What I am saying is they have been oppressed for years, there has been no chance given to them to advance as a society. They are not primitive in their weaponry, they are primitive as an industrialized nation simply put. I’m not placing blame on the individual Iraqi it is not their fault. How do you think our independence was won? Through the muzzles of the pioneering Americans against the British, our independence and freedom were achieved through war, as will Iraq’s. This topic can be debated for years, everyone of us have been socialized by different values, norms and conditions which surrounded us. There is no right or wrong answer for this, we all however have different opinions.

I feel you. But when we gained our independence, it was all us...some country didn't come over from thousands of miles away to give us independence, you feel me? What are going to be the implications of our "liberating" Iraq. It really was not our place to say "they need this." Plus at some point we have to leave...right? What happens then. I hear what you're saying, but I think we were/are over zealous in our "freeing" of Iraq. I also never believed that Bush thought of it as a "liberation" movement, IMHO.
