Hey Trauma,

I heard that up until a few years ago, Black folks weren't allowed to become Mormons.
Is that true?

As far as a second chance goes, I don't find that in the bible.
There is no second chance to repent. According to the bible, you have to accept Christ as your savior and repent for your sins in order to go to heaven.
As for the people who did not hear his news, well Jesus says that those who heard the word will be held more accountable then those who didn't.

And this multiple heaven thing, I don't see where it talks about in the bible. As far as I know, there is one heaven only.

Although Muslims believe there is 7 heavens, it's in the Qu'ran.
THEY COULDNT HOLD THE PRIEST HOOD.

YEP, that shit sucks for me, my mom is a hardcore bible thumper, so i guess with all of her preaching to me and telling me her, and hopefully not the bibles, examples to make it through the straight and narrow, she is pushing me straight into hell.

"Do a lot of people go to hell?"

Why should we be concerned with matters of salvation and damnation outside ourselves? And can we be righteous in judging other's whether they go to heaven or hades? What is this thread for?
1) Because Jesus said that we should be concerned for others.
He says we are the carriers of the light, we must bring light to those who are in the dark....

2) You are right, only God can look into our hearts.
There for only he knows if we are doomed or not....

yes, but you can only help people so far. We can't save anyone but ourselves. If one does not wish to see the light they will not see it. My point is that the title of this thread puts people in the position of judging others. The thread question is set up badly asking us to judge others whether they are saved or not. That truth remains with the individual and ultimately, GOD. I agree with you, we should be concerned for others. But not in the manner this thread provokes.......

Don't you think that's kind of contradictory though? If people are held more accountable then those who haven't heard it, what does that mean? They're gonna MORE get into heaven then the others? Most traditional christians believe heaven or hell... I don't see anything perfect in that... I think God's judgement is perfect, and how could it be if he's sending people to hell just because they've never heard his message? Do you honestly think it's just a crap game, if you're born in africa you're screwed? You're going to hell because you were born in india? That's why I believe after death, you have a chance, in all fairness.

And your top question, nah that's not true. Blacks were allowed to become mormons, but weren't able to hold the mormon 'priesthood'. There were black missionaries however even in the 1800's... compared with other christian churches, mormons were actually pretty progressive, and in the 70's, after the civil rights movement, rescended the whole 'no priesthood' rule.

Peace~

Lady,

It's actually true.
All Mormons must register, up until a few years ago they started allowing them to enter.

What's funny is that the founding fathers of the Mormon church were racist torwards Indians and Blacks.

They made it clear that there can never be black priests.

Trauma,

How is that contradictory?
That is what Jesus said. It basically means that he judges you according to the light in your life.
I feel that it's fair judgement.

In Matthew, Jesus compares the judicial system with that of God's. The metaphore went something like this;
"The judge will throw you in jail. And I tell you the truth, you won't get out until you have paid the last cent"....
Could Jesus be talking about temporary punishment? And not eternal damnation?
Read it entirely yourself, it's in the beginning of Matthew.

I don't know where you ge the notion of getting a second chance.
It sounds like you speak about reincarnation.
Now I don't see anything that supports that theory in the bible.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think all who do not bow down to Jesus will go to hell. There is exceptions you know. You already mentioned people in rural places all over the earth who never had the chance to hear the gospel.
God is merciful and I know that he has a special place for them.
(Meaning exceptions)
But I cannot speak for those who are brain washed by other religions. True, if they never had the chance to hear the gospel then God might spare them.
But there are those who hear the gospel and still don't convert.
From the looks of it, it appears that God will shove them aside just like they did him when they heard the gospel....

As for the multiple heaven theory....
I don't see that in the Christian bible........

PS.... Protestant Christians are the only Christians who believe that those who do not know Jesus won't get into heaven....
