This might not have much to do with the Thread Title, but from readin sopme of the posts, I want to add the followin:

For somebody like me who didn't grew up in the States, but still grew up on Rap music, I gotta say that I am lookin forward to SD projects more than to any others shit droppin elsewhere these days. And that's because of that Real Street Shit that y'all drop and not that 'copy-bay-shit' some of y'all was talkin bout. Shit I can relate to, even though I was never a banger (we would never copy shit like that, just hold it down for our neighborhoods)), but in similar situations in a different country. That real shit got rare these days. Take A Ride was one of my first CDs I could get my hands on and I been addicted since to the Dago sound. Lunch Meat's album was a real treat last year and I hope that more shit will drop soon.

^^^Mike..I feel you and i to also believe that there is still a market for that real shit. It appears that rappers felt pressure to do other things because the radio is playing all that other stuff, and these new artists are trying to reach new fan bases....funny thing is the old fan base of G rap aint went nowhere...It isnt like these fans one day said I dont like that real shit..play me something I can shake my ass to in the club...It may be argued that some feel that people was getting tired of hearing the same thing...maybe...but probably with all the home recording the industry was flooded with sub par music. G rap fans spent money on music and are partially responsible for its success. But these new artists are trying to reach fans who may not even listen to rap 5 years from now...and most the younger generation is downloading, and do not really care about supporting a good album.

and i respect that homie, im not the type to run my mouth to an older dood especially if hes experienced with the subject but it was jus my opinion on it, my bad if i got off as disrespectful or anything.....but anyways, is there any root to thier gangs though?? did any of our people move out there and continue it or did it pick up or are they just jackin that shit
Sure, think about it they didnt one day have a new idea of being blood or crip (since it was already been done many moons ago) Also people have stated and it is true..The Eastcoast used to clown the Westcoast on bloods and crips and the way we dress and not ony Jheri curls, but any type of long hair...corn rows...french braids. Back in the day there was a G Code and these styles not just anybody would sport them..like all the cats with braids today..you might get hit up on where you from, so it was most common with Gang bangers. Anyways The east coast aint no punks...thats for certain but this bloods and crips shit was probably introduced to the younger crowd..and made popular by the rappers who are trying to follow it out their. It is also common knowledge that gangs have spread by people moving out of cali, there are crips and bloods in almost every state

Some real shit. I always wonder why artists like Spice 1 etc. try to get another Radio hit (like Playa Man), instead of just doin what he/they was good at in the first place and what gained em the fans that put em into the 'front row'...I always have to ask myself, if these rappers really like what theyput out, or if they just do it, cause they think it sells? And that goes from big names like C-Bo to no name newcomers...

Some of the really big consumers are women & that's why a lot of rappers make atleast one song(&its usually their single) for the ladys. I've dated a lot of bitches & damn near all of them don't get too deep into rap lyrics. They be all into Mary J Blige & Beyoncé lyrics but when it comes to rap they just want something to dance to. They could give a flying fuck about what a rapper is spittin. Ask any female u know what rappers out there have dope ass lyrics & listen to their ansewer.

Anyways its funny watching NY gangbangers wearing big ass red puffy coats & Timbs throwing up gang sighns. The "we do this shit better then ya'll" comment makes me smh everytime I think about it.

have you ever seen that show gangland homie? they had one of the NY bloods, and let me tell you they're on some other shit. according to them the bloods there started as a prison gang by "OG Mack" and "OG deadeye" to protect black inmates fromt the Latin kings.....they said mack decided to uniform the black inmates under the blood name, but they said he had no affliation to the west coast damus.from there it spilled out into the streets and they started recruiting.....they rep the 5 pointed star while crips in NY rep the 6 pointed star....when one of the bloods was asked what was up with the "6" he said " i dont know, i just know im against it"..seems to me allot of those fools dont know any type of history between the bloods and crips.also the three main sets were the 9 trey,1 8 trey and sex money murder sets....and get this the "9 treys" are suppose to be the "teachers and the Breeders", 1 8 treys are supposed to be the "enforcers" and Sex Money Murder is supposed to be the "money set"....their call to another blood is "bbbrrrrrrrrrrratttt",one of the bloods said when crips hear that they get"real tight" cause they know there bloods around.....and bloods out number the crips 5 to 1......in New jersery they also started a blood set called the "double i i's" which stands for "illtown and inglewood"...they said that this set is one of the only that have west coast ties because some bloods from inglewood went there on a "rap tour" and advised the smaller gangs to become one gang and form a blood set,ie the double i i's.......

latin kings arent a new gang though, so what about the 10-20 years before bloods and crips hit the pen in NY?

how do you decide to uniform a gang under the blood name?

thats like me going downstairs and making a hamburger and telling you that its mcdonalds

thats pretty fucking weird if you ask me

so the blood name was used as a marketing ploy?

exactly...its like homie was like "man the bloods are reputable, ima just say were bloods now" dont make sense to us on the west i know, but that how they say they got started up.

and as for 10/20 years ago they really didnt say what kind of gang structure there was, they just said in 1993 "og mack and deadeye" came along and wanted to unify black inmates to protect themselves from puerto ricans.

What I heard is that oG mack wanted to be down wit some BPS, EL RUkn or one of them chi gangs in the pen but they woiuldn't let him, so he read about the UBN out here. So he merged the CHi town gang lit with the westcost name and look, and made that eastcoast bullshit.

And if you saw that LK shit some Cuban dude went to CHI got put on by the LK then moved to NY and made his own bunk LK shit in NY. So as you can see NY has some fraudulent ass niggas, who like to steal, hate, and corrupt shit.

Rappers from Inglewood huh? Wonder what rappers they're reffering to. LOL!

So the Ricans & blacks beef with each other in the pen like the blacks & Mexicans out here? To me it just sounds like some scary ass niggaz in the pen who were outnumbered by Ricans.

This is very true. Latin Kings did start in Chicago & they started that shit in NY hella years later.

Now I knew about OG Mack starting the Bloods many years ago but who started the NY Crips? And I only heard of a couple of B & C sets in NY & Jersey. They only got a handful of B & C sets out their?

right they adopted what diciples and vice lords claim with stars..
Thats how it is in The Midwest my nig. You'll hear a Blood from out this way talk about 5 Poppin which is ViceLord and Blackstone shit. Blackstones and Bloods got history because on the west they the same(Black P StoNe). You'll also hear Crips talkin Bout 6 point star shit which is Folks (Disciples). I think they associate each other with colors because the Folks B in Blue and black and the Lords B in Red and Black. Only thing is Vicelords(red Team) wear everything on the left(like Rips) and Folks(blue team) wear everything on the right (like Bloods). Itz all fucked up. I hate 2 say it but Snoop and Game have helped these niggas how 2 gang bang correctly-HAHAHA

Real Talk tho Gang bangin is a product of your environment. Itz all about where you grow up! No Nigga should gang bang cause he thinks that shit is fun. as for me My older relatives was Bloods but they was from Lincoln and I stayed in the East went to Freeze and 2 Skyline Park after School. It was prevalent back then but really not major until Junior high when we was bussed all the way 2 Kroc and got into with The Lvc that it did matter where u was from cause a nigga here u from Skyline ooh u must be a ----- and u gotta take off on that fool! Colors came out and everybody was from somewhere.

The east Coast is Grimy ass fuck and they do got hella killas and Ghettoes that"ll make u talk like Master P uuuuuuuuuggggggghhhhh! but that gang bangin shit is false and aint no reason for it. Itz cool on some High school shit but after that get money. Itz dumb on the West Coast 2 but itz 2 much history for that shit 2 stop - right away at least
