Wasnt the song originally supposed to be about tha Bay and tha name originally "To Live and Die in the Bay"? That's what I heard a longass time ago and folks were sayin that Suge was like fuck that.....
dont know about that one..maybe the concept but the whole damn song has not one bay reference..and he was in LA hard at that time. id be surprised if he made a bay song at that point in time in his life..and no pac didnt mess anything up for the bay. he passed the rock and the the bay made its first few shots then built a house with all the bricks...

he wasnt some stupid little street corner hustler pushing nickel and dimes thats for sure. he had passion for his art and perfected it to sell millions and become a legend. theres better physically gifted quarterbacks than joe montana but when it comes down to producing some just know how to get it done when it counts. good post. he didnt fuck up nothing for the bay.

ok, pac was born in what, east coast? raised in the town. did he fuck it uop an make it harder for bay rappers to get fame? i mean check it out, the bay rappers that get national play, like radio an mtv is the ones that was out before pac, short an 40. me an the homies was discussing this while slappin differnent cds an a pac one got put in. just a random unfluenced thought

EDIT!!!!!

i aint blaming pac, there seems to be confusion. im saying indirectly did pac mess it up with his attitude an lifestyle that reflects how shit goes on everyday out northern califas

Naw he didn't fuck the bay up, the bay with all the bullshit compilations and turning albums in just for a check fucked the bay up and pretty much the west. Pac got the name Live and die in la from a movie so i dont belive that he was going to call it live and die in the bay. Pac had been on some LA shit at that time. Somebody hit it right on with most of our good rappers that had it is on drugs and shit. Also now that the music business is at a stand still its gonna be hard for folks to put they all into a album that everybody is going to just download for free or by from the neighborhood bootlegger for 2 or 3 dollars. Tupac didn't fuck shit up he put niggas on and repped wherever he was at hard.

i was dumby drunk awhen i posted this! my bad. it came out like a muthafucka was blaming pac for some nothing shit. my thought was did pac's attitude an swagger of realness an strong opinion an a voice for the streets scare record labels away from the bay? i mean do you think them labels thought "why should we try an find another 'pac' if they just gonna wind up facing the same fate?"

I MEAN RECORD EXECS AND THAT WANT CONTROVERSY AS LONG AS IT HAS A GOOD TURNOVER. I THINK PAC WAS A BIG REASON WHY THE BAY GOT INCLUDED IN THAT WHOLE WESTSIDE STUFF IN THE EARLY 90's I MEAN IF YOU TRIP IT WAS MAINLY SO CAL MOVEMENT, BUT HE DID INCLUDE THE BAY, WHICH HAS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT CULTURE. NOW IF YOU NOTICE RAPPERS FROM SO CAL ARE KINDA RIDING ALONG WITH WHATS HOT RIGHT NOW UP HERE. AND STILL INCLUDING US AS ONE WESTSIDE. UNLIKE THE ATL WE DIDNT COLLABERATE. DURING THAT TIME PERIOD RAPPERS FROM DOWN THERE KINDA TOOK THE SHINE... UNTILL IT JUST FADED OUT .............SO NO I CANT BLAME PAC I PUT THE FAULT IN THE ARTIST AFTER PAC THAT LET THE MOVEMENT STAGNATE.

true true. but ask anyone out side of music, when they mention west coast they say snoop, dre, game, crooked i, kurupt etc.... they consider bay an west coast different for some reason
