And Russell's lack of touch and accuracy is probably contributing to those dropped passes. Sometimes a big arm is a bad thing when you have no touch on your throws. He also puts the ball in the wrong spot, making it tougher to haul in the pass. The receiver should catch it regardless, but the QB is not helping at all in this case.
Sometimes that is the case (Russell putting in in the wrong spot) and sometimes the ball hits them right in the hands and they still drop them. I remember Murphy dropping 3 passes in a row against Houston and the ball hit him right in the hands. Against the Giants, number 19 dropped a ball that hit him right in the hands a well.

He's not dropping passes because Russell can never find him.

So what you're saying it once he is found he'll start dropping them? I have to see it to believe it.

Averages don't mean shit when you've only caught two passes and rushed once.
Uh averages do mean something. That means they need to put that speed to use since he's picking up yards everytime he touches the ball.

That's a bad combination, a Qb that has no accuracy throwing to a guy who can't catch.

Maybe they should use DHB for short passes. They should just focus on short passes if they havent already.

^Exactly... you gotta set the deep ball up. You just can't drop back and think you can throw it deep. Start with the short stuff and that will open up the deep ball later on in the game.

I wouldn't expect to see him or any other receiver drop the majority of passes they get, but he is known for not having great hands so I would expect him to start dropping some.

Yes averages do mean something, but not when the guy has only caught the ball twice. Nobody goes on averages from 2 touches. On Frank Gore's first 2 carries he was averaging negative yardage. That obviously changed when he started getting more rushes. If we would have guessed how well he would do this season based on his first 2 touches we would all think he's in store for -500 yards rushing this season. Vernon Davis caught a 30-something-yard TD on his first catch of his career and followed that up with a catch for around 15-yards. Just going by those two catches you'd think he was in store to average 22+ yards per catch and a TD every two receptions.

What I'm getting at is DHB hasn't done enough for his averages to matter. If he catches 20 more balls and still averages those numbers, THEN you can bring up his averages and have them mean something.

Good points but the fact still stands.... he's averaging 18 a catch and 20 yards per run! We need to get him involved more period. That's not saying he'll average 18 a catch if he did catch 20 more balls or 20 yards per run but those are stats that can't be overlooked, especially since we have the worst offense in NFL history. Obviously that speed is good for something so we need to utitilize what we have.

That's the whole point.... gotta get this dude more involved in the offense because he picks up yards when he does get the ball. There's no excuse for DHB going through games without a catch. It's not like he's dropping the ball (he's not even on the list for dropped balls) they're not doing enough to get it to him. It starts with Cable's play calling!

LOL @ Raider fans being proud of 2 more catches. Most people would expect alittle more of a number 7 pick but not raider fans.

As long as he's doing better than the 49er, he's ok in their eyes.....

DHB isn't even averaging 1 catch a game and it's not like he's dropping them. Ol Al ain't gone take this for too much longer. He believes in his draft picks and he know they can do better. Cable is going to get the ax or demotion real soon...

I agree with Fatal here... averages don't mean shit when you have 2 catches

he was the first WR picked in the draft and has the worst stats out of all the rookie WRs... DHB fucking sucks...

I said it when we picked him and I'm still saying it now... he was a horrible pick

of course he has the worst QB in the NFL throwing to him... but he should still have more than 32 yards in the first FIVE WEEKS!!!
