RPGs this generation flat out suck.



FFXIII is easily the best RPG this generation.

Usually the FF games are highlights but there is always games that are much better if you look. Not this time around. With all the technological advances in gaming, you would think they could offer something more or redo the same old formula right. smh

...anyway, if you play RPGs, what do you think the best ones are this go around? Maybe I'm missing something.

BTW they're not pictured but I have Eternal Sonata & Magna Carta 2 as well.

This isn't the 90's anymore, turn based RPG's are dead. Mass Effect, Elders Scrolls and Fallout 3 are the type of RPG's people want now.

I know that and to me those games are all a bucket full of faggot. Which is even more reason, if you're going to make an input battle system (since very few are actually turn based anymore) then you should be able to do it flawlessly.

Dude no offense but u are missing out on some seriously dope games with that attitude. Have u tried dragon age origins? it allows you to pause combat and issue commands to party members one at a time which is kinda turn based. also fallout has vats mode but those games are much more than just RPGs so u might not like cause I thought I read u don't like modern action/rpg hybrids

final fantasy XIII is hot garbage. Can't believe I wasted $30 on that shit when I never pay that much for games these days. Oro already said what needs to be said

I'm not missing out on anything. I've played FO3/NV, ME, Oblivion, & Dragon Age. My friends all have different tastes in games and are constantly trying to get me to like the shit they're into but really those games suck. So in addition to giving those games full shots, I've also seen them played all the way out, sometimes more than once ...add Demon Souls to your list too.

I would love to see an rpg on one of the new consoles that was more old school in playing style like FF7 or dragon quest 8, I grew up playing those kinds of games with phantasy star and ultima.

This game taught me how to read:
