But you how they do.... that's what he plans on doing assuming he defeats Mayweather. I thought he was talking about hanging them up after he lost to Mayweahter in the first fight. I think if he lost to Mayweather again he's going to retire. If he beats Mayweahter he'll probably fight Cotto which will be a good fight.

Cotto vs ODH would not be a good fight imo. Cotto would KO ODH within 10 rounds (would have been an awesome fight if ODH was in his prime though).

And I hear what you're saying, but the only way I see ODH walking away for good is if Mayweather knocks him out, which I just don't see happening. I think it will go the distance and as long as it does it will be semi-close on the cards.

Oscar made $53 MILLION dollars in 2007 and fought ONCE. His fight with forbes isn't PPV but it is sold out 30,000 people thats bank for a TUNE up fight. His rematch with Mayweather will be another huge success and one more super fight could make him the highest paid athlete ever in a single year. They don't call him the Golden Boy for nothin!

I'll take De La Hoya over Cotto. I think Oscar could outbox Cotto.
I doubt it. Cotto isn't Mayorga .. he's not just a guy with a good punch he has legit boxing skills. Most the people that fought Cotto probably thought the same shit and ended up commenting on how good his jab was and that he was faster than they thought.

I agree that Cotto will smoke DLH but I really do want the fight to happen no matter what happens in the DLH/Mayweather rematch. Cotto/DLH will still be a big money and if Cotto looks impressive, which he should, it could easily make people that really didn't care before call out for a Mayweather/Cotto. Hopefully that would create enough noise to actually make the fight happen.

Delahoya owned Forbes bad. Cotto is too much for Oscar and I seriously doubt hed drop down to 147 for Cotto. I do wanna see Delahoya fight Chavez Jr, give him the benefit of the doubt that he fought an aging Chavez let him do the same. I bet they would do incredible PPV buys....

I don't know, de lay hoya did what he was supposed to do, but uh, seriously, I think the naturally much smaller Forbes put up a pretty decent fight, a much better fight than oscar was expecting. Forbes aint no Gomez or Manfredo, he's a former champ, but be real I'm not saying it was close, but Forbes did land some big shots and Oscar did get Stunned a couple times there. Actually, oscar's face was pretty fucked up at the end of the fight. Forbes aint no mayweather of course, but for de lay hoya to beat forbes in a tough fight like that and say he's going to beat Mayweather is silly. Mayweather has ODH's number 99 out of 100 times.

Forbes aint a tune up. He's a measurement of how good you are. Forbes is a B class fighter at best, Oscar desposed of him pretty easy, but at the same time struggled a bit and took some punishment. If that's any type of measuring stick, then put the bank on Mayweather to win again.

I was thinkin' the same thing. It was a pretty good fight. Forbes stood his ground, took some De La Hoya shots and even landed some good shots of his own. De La Hoya's face did look pretty messed up at the end of the fight. I would still pick De La Hoya over Cotto.

you just love picking against Cotto don't you?

Let's see: ODH over Cotto, Gomez over Cotto, Mosley over Cotto and did you pick Judah over Cotto too?

I see a pattern here tony!
There's so many out there like this, especially mexican ones.

I was kinda disgusted watching that fight, It was like watching a Big Brother invite all his friends over to watch him beat his little brother's ass. De La Hoya was tryin to look all impressive, but really he just looks old and unnatural. Props to Forbes for puttin the black and blue on gay ass Oscar.
