Did you ever hear about the Vietnamese guys that held a bunch of people hostage at an electronic store in Sac back in the early 90's? They eneded up dying in a shoot out, but they did something that was unprecedented in terms of American robberies (they asked who wanted to be freed and then they shot those that wanted to be freed, in essence, they forced some to risk death in order to get a chance at living). Anyway, their mother was a Catholic and they were raised in the church, but they turned out like their cold hearted, cutthroat relatives.

hella fucking random

^^^ Na man, I know EXACTLY what dude's reffering to. It's especially common with Latina women in college, their families put them on a pedastol since they are the first of the family to attend college. This happens with a lot of panzy Mexican males too. It's sad when you have to attend a college with over 30,000 students walking around thinking they're the shit because they are there. And people feed into this bull shit, believing that just because someone is in college they are somehow better than those who never attended. I have a million times more respect for the man that wakes up every morning to go to do hard labor and feed his family than for most of the punk ass people in college acting like they own everything...

so your saying people that go to college are punks..... but people who do hard labor aren't.... so getting an education nowadays makes you a punk... that is ridiculous...

The school system represses the right side of our brain (the creative side). You know how you're a child, you're a lot more creative and everything? Well it's no accident, the way we learn actually reduces the creativity. I even read somewhere that only 2% of people are truly creative when they grow up, reaching their full potential.

i'm the first of my mom's kid's to get a high school diploma and go to college. i fuckin wake up at 4am to go to work everyday and still manage to take 3 classes a semester. so hell yeah i will stick my nose in the air because i fuckin work hard for the shit that i have, i earned that right. even if i have to live that "square bear" lifestyle.

when i went to heald my mom paid that shit in cash. she didnt care..she pulled money from her retirement fund to pay for my school. so that i could have an education. i've never worked retail, fast food, nothin. i was spoiled in high school so that i would just go to school and not have to worry about some bullshit part-time job. now i'm lookin at 50k a year with only an associate's degree. i cant fucking wait to finish my bachelor's degree.

KV, being proud is one thing, and being an arogant prick is another thing completely. I'm the first one in my family to go to college too, and I've been working hard since early high school, but I still don't think I'm better than people who haven't attended college or who never did. That is all I'm talking about...

You obviously don't, but a lot of people DO let this shit get beyond their head.

^^^ Yeah, I went off generalizing Latinas in college too, so my bad. I didn't mean all of them, just some. And I'm glad you realize what I'm reffering to...

ok i re-read it.... you didn't say theyre all punks my fault but it kinda seemed like you generalized all college students to me.
I didn't mean all, although I exaggerated with what I wrote. There are many people like that though...

i agree.... there are a bunch of lil rich kids who never worked for shit in there lives and they get into college BARELY might I say that and then act like they are better then everyone and their mom when they have never stepped foot in the work place in their entire life.... and probably won't have to until they are out of college. At least that's how it is at SF State.... I don't go there but I live pretty close and worked right next to there so yeah.... I don't know if that's what your reffering to but that personally is what bugs me the most.
