I've seen the statistics and the per capita deaths from firearms compared to the US here look like a rounding error. I'll put them up in a follow up post.
No we don' have a constitution like you do with the "right to bear arms".
The second amendment was installed because you were fighting the British and relying on militia's to protect yourself from the English as you didn't have an organized army. That's no longer the case obviously.
