how you do it.. is you go to an immigration law firm.. you talk to them and shit.. fill out paper.. then they file an application.... then immigration reviews it and decides if they accept it or not. You gotta get your finger prints taken, an updated picture every year And til you are legal you are stuck renewing work permits and shit. It can take anywhere from a year to 5 years or more.

And you have 3 chances or should i say 3 court dates and they just keep getting pushed back more n more most of the time.. sucking you dry of your money.. if they keep deporting and you appeal the final chance is at the 9th circuit. If it gets vetoed there.. youre going back to where you came from.

what do you guys suggest, that coming into america to do whatever you please should be more like walking into toys r us? i mean, according to americas laws, illegal immigrants are criminals.

dont get me wrong, i dont think anyone trying to make a living is a criminal, but the crossing of the border and continuing to live here makes you an illegal immigrant. which i think, is illegal. i say "think" because i live 5 minutes from the mexican border and i have little to no proof of this illegality, based on my surroundings.

now anyways, if i commit a crime as an american citizen what happens, i get thrown in the court system, have to pay fines, get ran around, and when i want to get a job i have to wait 7 years until my criminal history clears.

do i think its wrong that you have to fill out paperwork, work permits, etc etc as a illegal immigrant? no.

maybe they need to make it a more efficient system to certify illegal aliens, especially if all of calis illegal immigrants are going to rush to do it, but i dont think that being able to come through and do what you want should just be a breeze, and i dont believe it to be in other countries. once again, i could be wrong.

but i know an illegal immigrant from mexico can find a job in san diego quicker than i can find a job in mexico, or any other country. REGARDLESS of experience. why would you not want to be legal in that sense? even IF its hard?

maybe because people thought it was easier to NOT be?

If it was so easy to get citizenship, you think people would risk their lives trying to sneak across the border and trying to get here? You think that paperwork would seem a lot safer to a person than risking their lives just to get an opportunity to work. The fact is, it isn't easy at all to become a citizen. The process takes over ten years of waiting in line, and even then, no one is ever guaranteed anything.

And about the liscences, how exactly does that even affect the immigration situation? People will just drive without liscences, nothing changes...

yeah, maybe it could be easier, but looking from the inside, how would that be done? they would damn near have to rebuild the citizenship program from the ground up. are we taxpayers going to pay for that, is the government, whos going to be in charge of whats considered a fair amount of time to procress information and do background checks, this that and the third, and if you have tens to hundreds of thousands possibly trying to do the same thing at once, it seems like thats going to take alot of manpower from a clerk to a person who reviews paperwork to a person whom calls to verify shit, to another person who might be a secretary who calls these people, bosses, all types of shit.. it sounds like something that isnt necessarily figured out yet as a whole.

maybe if less people were trying to get into america it wouldnt be such a jammed system, im sure it would be the same just because im a skeptic, but still, it aint like two mexicans wanna be citizens

Would you prefer that they dump money in building a huge wall across the border? I'm just saying, money gets thrown around for this and that trying to "improve" the immigration issue. They could begin to use it for something that may actually work and not be a complete waste of money, time and effort...

theres already a wall, theres no point in building another wall if they make tunnels to begin with

i dont see immigrants sitting around drinking beer, theyre at work. but the fact remains theres still rules in this bitch, i dont like the rules either, but they are there.

i mean do the crime do the time..thats always been one motto of mine...and the time is obviously becoming a citizen

I'm not even arguing that though, I'm saying that the money thrown at the immigration problem by the government is wasted because the programs they develop don't do shit. I'm just saying be more efficient with the money and not just waste it, like building a fuckin wall knowing damn well that there would be tunnels made to begin with.

How about some money thrown for some programs IN Mexico? The changes need to happen in Mexico (NAFTA, etc.,)

and its not like border patrol are chasing illegals down like pac man does ghosts after a power pellet, they go for issues dealing with the actual border itself. i work right next to the border patrol and right on the very same row that leads us to work its all towing and mechanic places, and these are all mexicans, who rarely speak english.

EVERY DAY i leave work, i almost get hit by one of these fools. they back straight out of parking at like 20 MPH without looking back, dont realize the whole "stop at a light; wait for the next person to go if they were first, then go" thing, they cut people off, refuse to merge on the freeway and run people off the road, all types of fucking shit.

the only reason i would be for illegal immigrants getting licenses is so THEY CAN LEARN HOW TO FUCKING DRIVE CORRECTLY.

now you guys are talkign about giving illegal immigrants licenses?

as far as throwing in money to mexico....mexico is really corrupt and i think america feels that they cant be sure that itll go to the right places, or the right hands, or even be used correctly down the line

the only way that would work to me IMO is if america had some sort of hands on relationship with mexico.

liek when the san diego fires happened, the tijuana general sent 12 fire trucks to help, that shit was cool. i think thats an ice breaker in our future relationships with mexico.

and im not exagerrating when i say theres only mexicans in this area. its a towing area, and all the signs have spanish on them.

mexican immigrants cannot fucking drive.

Still stereotyping. Not every single Mexican immigrant lives in San Diego, although a lot do. So you're still stereotyping...

mexico is corrupt for the same reason everyone else is corrupt.

were corrupt too, but thats why giving people money isnt the best bet.
I don't mean give money like giving people dollars and letting them do what they want. I mean building programs for people to have some sort of economic opportunities at home so they don't have to risk the trip to the US...

Perhaps you should be more specific then and not generalize all Mexican immigrants with those that you speak of...
