here is a bit of commentary on the ad from someone whose opinions/essays i usually find to be somewhat insightful.

I hate the fact that people are so noble about when blacks are the victims of racism, but it doesn't matter if its any other race thats the victim. being mixed and kicking it with all kinds of different races, I've realized that EVERYONE IS RACIST in some sort of way. do you call whites crackers or honkeys? think all blacks are thugs? ask latinos if they speak english before they say shit? think all 7/11's are run by A-rabs? say asians can't drive? suprise, you're racist. its funny watching comedians talk so much shit about white people, but if the tables are turned it becomes racist.
Personally, I don't see the ad as racist. they chose the whitest of white women and the blackest of black women to represent their black & white devices. if the other 2 ads became billboards first, would it have been racist if this one made it? foos are always quick to pull the race card when shit isn't even there...and sony probably chose that for the billboard for that exact reason

I'm surprised they had the balls to post a billboard with blatant racism. They are usually racially sensitive when it comes to black people. This type of shit happens to asians everyday without any repercussions. I wish asians had as much clout in the media as black people. They got a big presence in the media and have voices like Jesse Jackson and Farrakhan to speak out on racism. Asians have no prominent figure in the media to speak out. They get away with blatant racism like passing out fortune cookies to the Miami heat fans when Yao Ming and the Rockets came to play in Miami. Rush Limbaugh on Espn talks about Donovan Mcnabb getting too much credit because he is black, and it makes headlines news and is pressured to quit. Miss Jones at Hot 97 in Ny makes a parody song about asians dying in the tsunami, and all she gets is a suspension. White DJ in St. Louis accidentally calls Condoleeza Rice a coon; he gets fired promptly. Adam Corrolla makes a ching chong skit on his radio show; he is forced to give an apology and keeps his job. There is a double standard of racism in the media. Everyone faces some sort of racism but the media always makes it seem the only people that matter in america are black and white people.
