btw. dont get a mac, thats the last thing you want. you will not be able to share programs, and some files with other people.
lol based on what kalyn layed out as uses for her new computer, what programs or files do you think she would NOT have access to with a mac?

"I would like to be able to watch a movie on my PC if I so desire DVD Player built in.. I work with a lot of pictures and graphics Photoshop.. I dont ever burn music but would like the ability to do so Toast Titanium.. Word processing and spreadsheets all day long Microsoft Office..
I want more than enough space so I dont have to upgrade anytime soon after buying- lotsa storage space....80 GB hard drive
I dont really need the monitor because I have a 20 in flat screen already but I'll do the package thing if thats the best way to go you can hook your mac mini up to your existing monitor...."

as you can see i own (and have always owned) a mac, so you could say i'm a "supporter" - not a fan boy like some would assume. i personally feel that the whole Mac vs. PC thing is a matter of preference, not superiority.

in kalyn's case - its clear that any kind of mac (i used the mac mini as an example/reccomendation due to its low cost and comparable feature availabilty to what she was looking for) is more than suitable for her needs. again, i'm not saying macs are better, just that she might want to take a chance on one - especially if she's tired of dealing with unexpected shut-downs, freezes, and/or viruses (none of which are common in macs).

thats my 2 cents, good luck with your find kalyn

Kayln my best advice would be to get a PC, just because of the fact that Macs are gay. I could go into further detail but I'm sure I don't have to.

I work with macs and PC's all day, both. The only reason youd want to get a mac is if you're doing graphic design shit as well as advanced 3d modeling/animation.

In this case, obviously you arent, so make the right decision and get a PC. I've had my current computer for about 5 months now and its never crashed ONCE.

So I bought my new PC today... I dont have it set up yet for several reasons but this is what I got...

HP Pavillion Desktop
Intel Pentium 4 w/HT Technology
800MHz, 3.0GHz processor speed
1Gig RAM, able to expand to 4Gig
Multi format, double layer DVD/CD-RW
w/Lightscribe direct disc labeling
48x maximum speed CD-Rom drive
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
9 in 1 media reader
2 interfaces, 7 USB ports both front and rear
Windows XP Home Service Pack 2

It only comes with Microsoft Works- I need Microsoft Office but my mom has the disc so thats all good. I had them custom load the McAfee Anti-virus and Spy "something" (some high-end) spyware program.. plus load all the patches and drivers I need ..
My MAIN question was.. how to get all my shit from my old hard drive to the new one... ummm yeah.. they said I could save all my files to disc and then transfer that way but I would have to re-install all my programs like Photoshop, etc.. and I was like ahhh hell no.. I dont have any of those discs.. those programs were given to me long ago... with programs like Dreamweaver, etc. they said it was several hundred dollars to replace them .. so instead I bought this Ghost software that will copy a mirror image of my hard drive and put all the files and programs onto the new hard drive.. but I have to TAKE out my old one, connect it to my new one..... yeah right- thats a joke- I dont even know what the hard drive LOOKS like... lol..

I have someone that is supposed to help me in the morning... but if I suddenly disapear off the Siccness..... you'll know I couldnt make my new PC work and I'm sittin' in the Canyon County Jail for beating a salesman to death... yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

When you "ghost it" you'll have all the old stuff BUT none of your new shit will be there...

Just adding the old hard drive to your new PC as a 'slave' drive is probably the easiest option.

One thing we're gonna try (to see if it works since I bought the damn program.. lol..) is save the mirror image, renamed as another drive, onto the new hard drive.. I read thru the manual last night and that should work.... if not I'll just have the old one slave in the new system...

I wouldnt even trip about it.. but I need my Photoshop, Microsoft Office/Small Business, Corel, CD Creator, Dreamweaver, My Jukebox (with all exclusive/unreleased tracks), etc.... all those programs have to be on my new computer because I've put in waaaay too much work to go without them..

Yeah, from what I know, you can not combine 2 windows installations into 1. Yes you can have all your old shit on your new drive and keep the new stuff but it'd require logging out and opening your Win98.

-press the power button on your speakers
-plug in speaker power to your outlet
-connect the speaker to the proper input on your pc
-increase volume
-install drivers for your sound card
-or maybe its you, you're going deaf. Clean out your ears

any of these fix it?

Oh look. A funny guy....

I tried plugging the speakers in to all the different outlets.. but the only one it works in is the earphone outlet and then its reeeeeal quiet.. of course I adjusted the volume... and my ears are in fine working order.. thanks... lol.. I dunno what the deal is..
