I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan but can't be the best fighter of all time bro. With the evolution of MMA and Boxing dude would get his ass kicked pretty fast. Anderson Silva (prime) vs Bruce Lee (prime) would go to Silva.

Kid bruce lee was ahead of his time...read his book he was the first martial artist to mix different fighting styles together(breaking the fix posistions)...the training and mma fighting style people have just started picking up on in the last 15 years bruce lee was doing and devolping in the 70s...so with ur logic of "evolution" bruce lee would have had some whole new level shit by now and the mma would have bben absolete...i could go on and on but im tired

Bruce Lee was one of the first people to be an advocate for well rounded fighting. He enjoyed and promoted the use of grappling in his fights. You can't compare 2 fighters of 2 different eras. For one, Silva is way bigger than Lee was. For two, the sport has progressed big time since Lee died in 1973. Lee was one of the main reasons that MMA exists today.

Cant take his skill away cause dude had talent, Id say the Michael Jordan of Martial Arts of his time. But he was a dirty fighter and use dirty tactics. His views of Martial Arts was so philosophical as a great master but I dont think with sanctioned rules He wouuldve been great. He was a great performer. Movies and real fighting =totally different....

he was lightning quick, too fast almost and ridiculously strong for someone his size. Had an obvious skill but great understanding of the martial arts. The thing with him and Jeet kun do (if taught correctly) is that he could fight someone who knew martial arts or some dude of the street. Martial arts doesn't always work well in a street fight. Bruce did promote kicking a dude in the nuts in a real fight or jabbing him in the eyes. He said, it's a street fight! It may be a fight for your life. Do what you need to do to win it

I am going out and say it.
Bruce Lee is overrated, there!

And he wasn't the first one who mixed fighting styles.
This has been happening since the first fighting styles existed.

It seems so that way for us in the west because we cannot handle anything well if it isn't categorized.
(a lot of ma got there names in the west, in the east where they originated... people 'just practiced'.
Developing what they knew and gathering other techniques from what they saw other people or animals do.
Sometimes they got their techniques from trees or bushes even.

I did enjoy his movies, but to say he was a great fighter. Goes to far for me.

Lmao @ people getting butt hurt. Bruce Lee was awesome. But he was a fucking actor more so than a champion fighter. He would get his ass handed to him in a brown paper bag if he fought in any of the premiere leagues of today.

Correction: Bruce Lee was a fighter first. Then became an actor. Read up on it.

Bro there is no denying that Bruce Lee was ahead of his time and is in fact a Legend. Like it or not, that is a fact.

We can not discredit the things that have made an impact and remain Legendary.

All this, he'd get his ass handed to him in today's world is meaningless. It's your opinion and that's as far as it's ever gonna go.

I respect it though.

Honestly, you know what i've noticed over the years is that the older you become the more you discredit and look for flaws in s--t you liked or respected long ago(I do it as well)...

For his time period Bruce was a respected Martials artists(even in today's time). Dont let the change in time period and culture change how you felt about the man(or anyone else for that matter). Comparing Martial Artists like Bruce to MMA style fighting in 2010, of course things are different..times have changes, styles have changed...but your respect shouldnt change...
