Macklin is a pretty good fighter, in fact he should have a title but was clearly robbed in Germany against Felix Sturm his last fight. He's Irish so naturally they chose him for st paddy's day. Still martinez was a 10-1 favorite so it was surprising to see him do so well.
he lives in the UK and he hasn't fought in the US in some years, I think he only fought twice in the US early on in his career so he isn't well known here. But he's a fairly big name in the UK.

It's funny how guys at the top can't lose rounds or else they look terrible (not saying anyone here said that). Guys like Donaire/Martinez/Pacquiao all had less than completely spectacular performances recently and they've been "exposed as bums". It's crazy.
This was a typical Macklin fight including when he was handling Moore and was issued a free stretcher ride late in the fight when he faded. I also thought he faded against Sturm even though I had him winning and Martinez just isn't the guy to fade against.

That seems to be his problem. He was badly hurt in the last round against sturm. Should have won nonetheless.
Yeah people always talk shit when a top guy doesn't completely dominate. As for this fight I kept thinking if sergio would let his hands go he would fuck him up so it was more of what martinez wasn't doing for the first half of the fight than anything. .

Nah not at all, I was reading other websites and people were completely slamming Martinez calling him overrated and shouldn't be ranked in the top P4P and yadda yadda. Definitely wasn't directed at anyone here. I thought Martinez didn't look as sharp as normal myself just think it's funny how quick people are to throw out words like exposed etc as if we didn't already know that Martinez holds his down, lunges in to punch, and does a lot of things that should never be trained to do.

That ass is fake! Martinez did his thing, played with macklin. Macklin fought smart but couldn't hang in the championship rounds, Martinez could of went 12 more. Larry merchant was horrible during this fight and was straight up hatting on martinez. gave him the mayweather treatment, Martinez handled it well tho.
