Kid Chocolate really impressed me, pretty good defense and punching power. Trout needs to let his hands go a lot more. The Traver fight was pretty good I have no problem with a draw. Kayode fought a good fight nice movement and defense.

kayode looked a lot better to me in this fight compared to some of his other fights. can't remember the guy but a couple fights ago he arguably lost to a bum and looked so damn one dimensional, that's why I figured tarver would win fairly easy. but last night he used some good movement, was more patient and even countered a bit. so his game had improved.

he's still sloppy and raw and will never be one of the best cruiserweights but he's improving at least.

he's funny as hell though to me so damn animated in the ring.

Winky retires:

Winky Wright ‏ G @gdwhsqas WinkyWright
It was fun while it lasted I did what I set out to do and that was to be great. Part of being a good boxer is knowing when to call it quits

Winky Wright ‏ G @gdwhsqas WinkyWright
If I can't be the champion again theres no need to keep boxing. But I thank all of u from the bottom of my heart for always supporting me&

Winky Wright ‏ G @gdwhsqas WinkyWright
I'll still be ringside at all the fights!

Good for Wright..He had a great career..He was taking some nasty shots Saturday..He's a dope defensive fighter tho...

Kayode seemed hella un coordinated to me...For example he would wobble around without being hit by Tarver..Is that how he is? Dude is strong as an ox tho..but his boxing skills dont seem all that there to me...

Also from that card..Leo Santa Cruz really impressed me..Im gonna start following his career....After the fight the first thing he did was give his father the belt and said "here this is for you"...Seems like a real humble hard working young dude..Im excited to see how he does in the future...

LOL came straight out of retirement looking fat and far removed from his original weight class and straight smashed on undefeated Michael Oliveira.

Oliveira fought on Showtime before, on the same card Austin Trout fought LaPorto in a fairly forgettable fight. Still crazy to see Popo smash him out in what was supposed to be the passing of the Brazilian torch.

most random shit ever.

it was good for him getting some rounds in last night, I like seeing him throw that left to the body. another tune up or two and I'd love to see him against froch, abraham, kessler any of those guys. just stay away from Ward.

My homeboy is fighting on that Chavez card this weekend. Alex Saucedo, national golden gloves champ and blue chip prospect. Kid is good man, Top Rank swooped him up and got him to turn pro at 17.
Any reason he turned pro so soon? Was it a money situation? I looked up some of his fights just now and saw his amateur record and he looks like he was a solid amateur.

His fight won't air I'm sure since it's HBO. He's only like 4-0. His debut was on TV though on one of the Top Rank cards.

He's from Oklahoma City but he fought down in Mexico a lot too and they wanted him on the Mexican Olympic team but he would've had to wait til the next olympics. He didn't want to wait that long.

He's fighting pro now because he's ready. He's been fighting since he was 8 years old and he's a gym rat man. The gym is basically in an attic with a metal roof and until last year, it only had 1 window. It's hot here in OKC in the summer and the gym is 20-30 degrees warmer than it is outside. At 6pm when it opens, it's still in the high 90's so the gym is close to 120 degrees or higher sometimes, it's brutal. He's been there every single day I've ever been there. He spars with Carson Jones and could give him a run for his money if he couldn't just outright beat him. He's ready right now.
