he was hurt bad by that right hand. very close to getting stopped. his punch resistance is gone, he should retire imo. he steps up, anyone with decent power is going to knock him out, especially since he still can't seem to avoid right hands.

too bad because he's still very athletic, just those ko's he's suffered ruined him.

I'm sure Lara/Martinez would turn out just like everyone thought Lara/Williams would turn out. How everyone said he didn't have power and wasn't ready for a guy like Williams then he straight clowned him.

Lara wouldn't be out of his element against Martinez at all.

.. and for the record I didn't know they had so many JT fans. Maybe they drove down to Biloxi from AR but most the crowd was there just for Taylor. Pretty dope event, not a lot of fights unfortunately. I was kind of hyped to see Kelvin Price because I haven't seen much tape of him and he upset Tor Hamer who was getting somewhat hyped up and it didn't leave me much impressed with him. The Lara fight made up everything for me, and then the shock on people's face when Taylor hit the floor.

I'm gonna have to check out Taylor's post fight interview, heard him kind of bucked up but couldn't make out what was being said really.

Either De La Mora's fight with Kameda had me fooled into thinking he was better than he actually is or Moreno used to milk it back in the day. He's always been technically sound but he wasn't blowing out guys like this when he was fighting Sidorenko/Cermeno etc. Crazy.

ha! Remember, hopkins was very silent before the pavlik fight, he hardly said anything.

He did talk to a reporter and this is what he said, he sounds confident as hell

"I know for a fact that you will never see another Jackie Robinson, you will never see another Michael Jordan, you will never see another Muhammad Ali, you will never see some of the people who came that we took for granted. We look at age as a death sentence but you have to understand what you wrote about me five years ago, what you wrote about me ten years, what you wrote about me eight years. '[You said] the man is a workhorse. He lives right. He sleeps, he drinks boxing.' When you take all of the things that you said an diagnose it, you sit back for a minute and say 'I said that then but man he's 47 now and all of that goes out the window.' To me, that means that you said what you felt was politically right to say at the time and you didn't really believe it. Now I've given you the evidence, through time," Hopkins said.

"If you say I'm a throwback then what do throwback fighters do? Jersey Joe Walcott won a title when he was forty-something. I'm the modern day them. I live in a time where everything is so microwaveable that there is no time to cook, season, chop and marinate no more. Well I'm the last of a fucking dying breed. And when you want to write something, you write that. I'm the last of a fucking dying breed, because all of this other stuff that you're looking at is all substance, its all bullshit, its all TV promoted, its all smoke and mirrors. When you get past the mirrors, what do you see? [You see] bullshit! I'm the last of what I said. I'm the last of a dying breed."

Well damn Teddy tell us how you really feel about the Manny vs. Mayweather fight. LOL. Teddy knows that Top Rank don't want to fight Mayweather. Manny better get free of Top Rank and make some Mayweather, ODLH money.

I still can't believe black russian got ko'd, I really thought he was the future of 175. teddy kept talking about how he's open for right hands and yep, he is. gotta wonder about his chin too, I think he was ko'd in the amateurs a couple times. The other thing this fight showed is he really has no inside game. he could have easily knocked the white russian out if he let his hands go more too, use some combos. damn shame considering he was to be the mandatory to hopkins-dawson.

i wouldn't bet against hopkins, thats for sure. that article posted earlier was ridiculous to say the least.. the first fight had barely started, & from my brief exposure to boxing i've seen hopkins (at this stage in his career) be someone who relies heavily on imposing a gameplan over the course of a fight. what happens in the 1st round is not indicative of how the rest of the fight will go. this is especially true in boxing, as opposed to mma.
