Here is a gem...Matthysse vs Sergio Martinez sparring. This is from 2010

I was training in Oxnard with Lucas and what I remember is his tremendous power from his punches. We were taking turns working on attack and defense, and one time he landed a tremendous hook to my liver that...Well, one is a boxer and tries to hide it, but the truth was that it was tremendous. He's a great boxer and also a big puncher, which something that many people in the United States maybe don't know.

Mile High Mike is the most underrated fighter at 140, period. wish him luck
I think we've seen what he is. He is tough as hell, can kinda box and has good power. I think all of that will be on display against Provodnikov. I think that Provodnikov is actually a better puncher at 140 than Rios but I guess we'll see. Sick fight though.

Martinez gotta say that about damn near everybody he fought since P Will. The man is akin to James Kirkland (to an extent), cuz he has to go down atleast once a fight.

Haha bigclit angry making up shit again. I said floyd ducked cotto? Never. I said floyd took a two year mini retirement when 147 was the hottest - undefeated Cotto, prime Margarito, Williams, etc.

And I was the biggest cotto fan? Lmao! I had respect for the guy once he beat Judah and he's been very entertaining. You want to talk about "double talk" how about you saying Cotto was absolutely shot when he fought Pacquiao, then suddenly became a great fighter again when Floyd fought him after. Get real man. Everyone here can admit both guys were at fault besides you.
Lol. So now I'm a Cotto fan? Just stop it you sound dumb as hell. Mayweather beat Cotto's ass but Cotto boxed a good fight losing 10-2 or 9-3. Stop making shit up. Unlike you and rest of the Manny dickriding clowns i can admit when im wrong and give credit when credit is do. You guys went from Mayweather is ducking because he asked for random drug testing, to PED experts. You was the main dickrider whining about how Manny doesnt have to submit to random testing now your whole opinion called but you still cant admit that you was dead wrong and eat crow. Lol.. It's funny how my opinion never changed i always said random testing was great for boxing from day one, but remember im a dickrider for stating that random drug testing was great and Manny used it as an excuse to duck the Mayweather.

Come on Manny dickriders and sideline co-signers I think after three years of lying to yourself and fucking up one of the biggest fight in history by letting Manny duck Mayweather over a teaspoon of blood being drawn randomly. You corny fuckboys shouldve put the heat on Top Rank and Manny to make the fight. As a boxing fan you fuckboys fuck up by bashing the wrong guy. When you cornballs can admit that and you guys know who im talking to about dont make me start posting old opinions of you clowns to prove my point. I just love seeing guys talk in cricles changing your opinions but never admitting that you guys were dead wrong.

Victor Ortiz was just on KC Sports radio whb810 and he said he was scheduled to be on Mayweather/Canelo undercard but instead he Sylvester Stallone gave him a part in Expendables 3 so he is now going to Bulgaria to film here shortly. Then he said was asked if he is fighting Alfonzo Gomez next? He wouldn't confirm or deny that. So next time we see victor Ortiz on screen will be in a movie.

He said Stallone calle him up personally for the part and told him Ortiz he wanted to manage his acting career. Apparently Stallone believes Ortiz is very marketable. Which holds weight I guess??

Funny part is he thought he didn't audition well and next thing he knows Stallone called him up and said he got the part. He should fit right in I guess lol

JEFF MAYWEATHER SAYS CANELO IS AN EASIER FIGHT THAN GUERRERO: “I DON’T SEE IT BEING CLOSE
July 23rd, 2013 | by Scott Smith

“I don’t see it being close. I think it will be an easier fight than Guerrero…Floyd has already won the 154 title twice by beating Oscar and Cotto. Canelo is no different from those guys, just younger. He might punch harder than Floyd, but he is not quicker, not craftier, and does not have as good ring IQ as Floyd. Floyd has probably the best ring IQ in the sport; not just today, but of all time. Canelo can punch hard, but Floyd barely gets hit, and when he does, he has proven he can take it. He [Canelo] is good, but flat-footed. I just don’t see nothing in him that will trouble Floyd,” stated world-class trainer Jeff Mayweather, who gave us an update on how undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather is looking as he continues to train for his highly-anticipated September 14 mega-fight with undefeated jr. middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Check it out!

SS: Hi Jeff, how was your weekend?

JM: Good, thank you.

SS: I want to start with Friday night’s action. What did you make of Micky Bey’s performance?

JM: Very good performance all in all, but he just got too brave at the end and got caught.

SS: Is it concerning that in between rounds, Floyd Sr. was telling Micky about keeping his hands up to stop from getting tagged, but he didn’t really take it in?

JM: No, not really. I think he performed well and was winning most of the fight; think he got brave and started to try and make a statement.

SS: Do you think his inactivity and relative inexperience affected his judgment and maybe he could have taken a knee to help survive and see the fight out?

JM: I’ve worked with Mickey before. He is 30 years old and been inactive and had only like 21 fights; as I said, a number of problems with promoters and other things. I don’t think this will affect him too much. He stepped in with a guy who has faced some of the better guys in the division and was winning the fight. With the networks now and the problems he has had with promoters, maybe he wanted to make a statement so he can get fights, and I think working with Floyd, he can get opportunities.

SS: You mentioned the networks. I wanted to get your opinion on this Rigondeaux scenario with HBO showing a lack of interest in him because of his style possibly. Do you think this is a problem in boxing with guys who are not exciting being penalized?

JM: I understand it is a business as well, so it’s not hurting boxing as such, but I think they are just mad because he beat their guy. I mean, they wanted Donaire to be the next Pacquiao and he beat him comprehensively. It was a great performance; he put on a masterful performance and beat their guy. What is he supposed to do? He is quite possibly the second best technical boxer in the world, and going into the fight, he had a good amateur background, but no real experience as a pro in big fights.

SS: Speaking of business, let’s move on to “The One” in September, Floyd vs. Canelo. A few people have raised suspicions that the business and politics could take over this fight, which could lead to a possible draw or a Canelo victory on the cards regardless of how the fight goes. What are your thoughts?

JM: I always look at it from a business point of view as well, but I think it would be dumb to rob the biggest and best fighter in the world. It would be bad business.

SS: I meant it like from the angle of if the fight is in any way close, people are suggesting that a draw or a Canelo win would generate huge income and interest in a rematch as opposed to if Floyd blows him away, like he did with Guerrero, and nobody would want to see a rematch…

JM: (Cutting in) Sorry to cut you off, but Canelo is 22 years old, so a loss to Floyd would not be too bad as it is expected. He still has a long way to go in his career and is Golden Boy’s big name. Floyd only fights Golden Boy fighters, so it would be dumb of the network and Golden Boy if there is a stick up on the best fighter in the world, as Floyd does the best numbers and brings in the money. And they realize that. What people have to realize is that Floyd left for Showtime, as did Golden Boy, because they know that is where the money is going to be. I mean, HBO gave Oscar his own network for Hispanic fighters and he was soon happy to go with Floyd over to Showtime. For there to be a robbery, the fight would have to be close, as it would do Canelo no good as people would turn on him.

SS: Do you see the fight being close? I remember you speaking to me before mentioning that Floyd really is a 147-pound fighter, so do you have any concerns?

JM: I don’t see it being close. I think it will be an easier fight than Guerrero.

SS: Really? Well, many thought Guerrero would be tough; then they say he is a nothing fighter when Floyd beat him. He is a four-weight world champion (laughing).

JM: (Laughing) Yeah, well what people have to realize is Floyd will beat good fighters and make them look ordinary.

SS: So no real concerns about Floyd fighting up at 154 again or any trouble from Canelo?

JM: Floyd has already won the 154 title twice by beating Oscar and Cotto. I just don’t see nothing in him that will trouble Floyd.

SS: It will be interesting to see. Floyd has been back in camp now for a week. How has he looked?

JM: He has looked sharp; very good.

SS: So no issues with the hand then?

JM: Not that I know of.

SS: This is the first time in a while we are seeing Floyd fight 2 times in a year. Is the camp the same; any changes?

JM: Roger and Floyd are there, yeah. I am not really in the camp, just here supporting, but he looks very sharp. He sparred on his first day back in camp.

SS: Floyd spoke recently about maybe taking it past his 49th fight, which would conclude the original Showtime deal. Do you think this could happen?

JM: Possibly, I’m not sure. I mean, after Canelo, there is really nothing left for him. I think he beats the rest quite easy, so he could go on.

SS: Floyd has spoken about the UK a lot in his career. I know it is a slim hope, but could we see him in the UK, or is it MGM all the way to the end?

JM: Possibly. He has spoken about it before I know, but not too sure.

I think how he lost the Mayweather fight or the whole debacle helped him a lot. It added great drama and was talked about for days. If he wouldve just lost regularly like Guerrero then u wouldnt even be hearing from him just like we dont hear from Guerrero lol. Got Em!!

Monday Night Boxing coming next month! Bernard Hopkins explains the new

There's "Monday Night Football," so how about boxing on Monday nights too?

Light heavyweight titleholder Bernard Hopkins put down his belt for the day and put on his Golden Boy Promotions hat -- he's a partner in the company -- to host a news conference in midtown Manhattan on Tuesday to announce the company's deal with the new Fox Sports 1 cable network, which will air "Golden Boy Live!" cards every other week on Monday nights for 24 shows in the first year of the deal.

In addition to announcing the overall deal, Hopkins unveiled the inaugural card, which will take place Aug. 19, two days after the network launches in some 90 million homes, at the Best Buy Theater in New York and be headlined by middleweight Daniel Jacobs, 2009 ESPN.com prospect of the year.

Jacobs (25-1, 22 KOs), a 26-year-old from Brooklyn, will face Giovanni Lorenzo (32-5, 24 KOs), 32, a New York resident from the Dominican Republic, in a scheduled 10-round bout.

"This [series] is history that I believe will help all young fighters to build their names, build their records and become household names in order to continue to come up in the rankings and be superstars in the future," Hopkins said. "Boxing on Monday nights is something fans will be watching. What a great way to start the week by watching Monday night boxing.
"This is the first of the 24 shows and there's going to constantly be more fights [on Fox Sports 1]. When I was coming up, we had 'Tuesday Night Fights' [on USA Network]. Now, we have [Monday night fights on] Fox Sports 1."

FUCK YOU
Its funny that you and same people that was co-signing Manny ducking Mayweather over a teaspoon of blood getting drawn randomly, are the same guys still trying to convince the world that Mayweather is scared of Manny. Give it up its old and played out. Mayweather is pissed off because he got blamed for the fight not happening, but yet his so-called roadblock random drug testing is the standard now in boxing for championship fights. But when Mayweather asked for random testing his scared, but since Manny asked Rios for random testing hes a warrior. Your boyfriend Donaire asked Rigo for testing and he ever asked anyone else. Rigo took the test and beat Donaires hypejob ass unlike Manny who just flat out ducked Mayweather. I just broke it down to you and pointed out your double standards on the matter. Im the only one on here pointing out how Donaire did the same thing as Mayweather demanded extra testing on one fighter Rigo, the difference is Rigo took the test and the hypejobs soul. Not you, Larry Merchant, Jim Lampley, or anyone else at HBO called Donaire scared or a coward but yet Mayweather is. Lol. Just stop it already Mayweather never was scared of Manny.
its hilarious that when his biggest competition is in front of him he wanted to make accusations why didnt do it with any other fighter

It's always seemed like DLH has gone way out of his way to help him. Maybe they're gay together or he just likes him for some other reason which I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt but honestly I just think they are gay together. He's getting his hustle on, can't knock him for that I guess.
