Why do you want Khan to die?

Matthysse is Garcia's mandatory so he deserves his shot at Garcia ASAP. Of course Golden Boy has other.plans and will no doubt make Khan vs Garcia at the end of the year.
Right as much as I think Khan will become champion again, he better stay away from Matthysse lol. Got Em!!

Really? I strongly disagree. I think Donaire is actually gonna make quick work of Rigon. I think Mares may actually beat Donaire in a great fight! Got Em!!

Huh? Khan is easily in the mix! He is still one of the best at 140. Got Em!!
Yeah but he wont come out as number one in the division hes good 2 have there.... they should make like a super six for the 140

!!
The way I see it is a style match up. Rigondeaux is a boxer with great defense and incredible reflexes. The only fighters who have made Donaire look human are boxers.

Mares style is a dime a dozen. Donaire shines when he fights guys that come to him. Now I know Mares has shown some boxing ability in dome of his fights but against Donaire he has zero chance of out boxing him. He would have to press the action and that fits perfectly well for Donaire who is best when he can set up his shots.

Mares chin is probably better than Rigondeaux so you could be right, but its not easy to hit Rigondeaux clean.

I hear u but I guess I am just higher on Mares. I understand the style thing but I think Mares is sumthin special and is on par with Donaire. He just doesnt get the props that Donaire gets yet. Im telling yall Rigon aint ready and he will be light work for Donaire. He will run like the jap dude haha. Got Em!!

garica you are not ready for me, you couldn't take the
punches from chop chop even with sparring gloves on,
imagine what I going to do to you.
Right on. Got Em!!

Mares will look like everyone else Donaire has faced.
The guy has a slim chance. Easily a 3 to 1 dog.
Naw I highly doubt it. Got Em!!

Would be easy to do since they are all pretty much with Golden Boy.

I just think Golden Boy has a couple agenda's right now. For one, they clearly want Khan-Garcia rematch. Two, they've really been trying to make bigger NY fights at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to help the scene grow there, and Richard Schaefer said it's not about making the best fights it's about making popular fights, hence Garcia vs Zab Judah and Paulie vs Mosley (although that fell apart (thank god)).

160 would also be dope for a super six like tournament (Golovkin, Kid Chocolate, Chavez, Pirog, etc.).

I don't know if that's the right way to word it. It seems like AEG is more or less making it really easy for them to hold fights there (for now). I'd be curious to see how long this lasts unless they are putting on solid shows. GBP is notorious for not putting on shows that sell well at the gate

I could settle for the MW tournament that ended up pitting Hopkins vs Trinidad. Doesn't have to be a super six. Even the bantamweight style that Showtime did after the Super Six would be great.

Am I the only fight fan that is just about fed up with listening to the ESPN First Take Show panel of "so-called" experts on sports speak on the sport of boxing? These are guys that are paid a very handsome ransoms to speak on the sport so you would think that with their saleries that I'm sure is in the six figures they could do research on what they are speaking about. Fact is there is so much twist and turns and angles within the sport you CAN NOT speak on boxing like you would any other sport including MMA because there is no absolute organizational power of rule within the sport... It is one think to listen to the words like scared, chicken, bum, and quitter just to name a few of the more harsh words that can bestowed upon a fighter... Some warrented, most of the time not, but none the less its one thing to hear these words spoken of our warriors by fellow fight fans... It's quite something else to hear these words used by grossly uninformed and uneducated people that are getting paid to do so speak on the sport as if what they are saying is absolute and fact of the matter... Rather it is for show or not.

Now... With that said I find it very painfully frustrating to set back and listen to these arm chair boxing experts speak on the sport I have such a passion for. Before I go any further one may being saying right now, "You dont have to watch... Turn the channel"... That is very true, BUT, when you have a passion for a certain sport or activity or what ever it may be in life you want to see it represented in the best light possible with no bias here nor there... In My Opinion, a true fan with passion and love for what ever it is that fan may be following just wants to see fair and balanced coverage of that said event etc... Now, with that being said I find myself compelled to watch these over paid "YAHOOZ" because you would think for the amount of money they make they could and or would take the time to actually research what is going on with the sport rather than speak on the sport with their "WHINE-O in the BARBERSHOP" approach to the sport... You have one guy defending Manny Pac and another guy defending Floyd Mayweather with a female host (used to most of the time stir the uninformed shit pot) and most of the time some other celebrity host that gets comp tickets to fights therefore in their minds making them "experts" on what is actually going on within the sport and therefore capable of speaking on the sport with logic... Throughout all of Stephen A. Smiths and Skip Bayless's rants have I ever heard neither one of them base a whole show on facts... If ever there was a fact filled show we wouldn't have Stephan Smith cooning and Skip Bayless making an equal ass out of himself speaking on a topic they obviously know very little about... The way these two overpaid armchair analyst and the so called guest analyst they bring on their show to speak on the subject of Mayweather vs Manny Pac (and other boxing related topics i just use that example because its what they have been on the biggest rant on) is absolutely deplorable... One guy verbally vomits all over himself with only a ring of truth to what he is saying and thats Stephen A. Smith... Skip Bayless hates Floyd Mayweather to a point that he doesn't care that he makes baseless pointless references to the guy as long as each time he speaks on him its something worse than what he said the last time... Listening to these guys was actually entertaining until I realized they are actually serious in their approach to the sport of boxing... Well I have news for them, and I will make it my point to do my best to get this blog to the right person at ESPN so that these two know how I feel about them...

I would like to think these two guys do a good job speaking on other sports but fact is I don't follow other sports so I wouldn't know what to say about their coverage of other sports... I am a fan of and cover the sport of boxing, and I know what they do and say for and about the sport shows while they might watch a fight on television or maybe even have passes to fights and have the best seats to fights they DO NOT COVER the sport... ESPN would be ripped to shreds by the fans if their analyst constantly reported errors on the NFL or the NBA or the NHL or any other sport... Boxing seems to be the only sport you can just make up "SHIT" as you go and that be acceptable from the viewing public because 90 percent of them don't know any better and some of the other 10 percent deem it o.k because the y feel any press is good press... All they (Joe Blow Public or aka The Causal FAn) know is they have two supposed boxing experts setting on a panel on ESPN talking boxing and which one sounds the most believable is the one they side with (freakin laughable)... They don't know neither guy is very well informed at all... These same casual fight fans that listen to armchair analyst like Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless are the same people that get "hoodwinked" and buy the hype of what these non informed analyst have to say and then get mad when they buy $70 fight cards and realize they have been "HAD" again and all the fights sucked... It would be very easy for me to say well they are getting what they have paid for and what they "DESERVE" buying that "BULLSHIT" when truth is these are simply people that want to be entertained and get value for their hard earned money and are taking the advice of what these so called "analyst" tell them. They constantly hear Manny Pac is an all time great, getting ready to fight former champ who is also a great in his own regard you fill in the blank... lol... margarito, mosley, hoya, cotto... What these armchair analyst dont tell these people is that hoya hadnt fought at 147 in over 7 years and his attempt to make the weight will be next to impossible or cotto has never been the same since his beating at the hands of margarito, or margarito hasn't been the same fighter since it was discovered he was fighting with loaded gloves some THINK in all of his biggest wins and with all of that all of these guys are also tailor made to fit for manny pac... you get the picture I'm painting here... This may sound crazy but I'd rather those guys not talk boxing period if they can't get the full story and an accurate story. Some may make the argument that, "At least they are getting the sport out there to the casual fan and keeping it on mainstream media"... I whole heartedly disagree... Not all press is good press and what they do to the sport, IN MY OPINION, is not always good for the sport.

I'm starting to think ESPN (and the like, not just ESPN they are just the biggest entity) and its shows are becoming painfully what is helping the demise of boxing... I am of the opinion that the network would be served very well to discontinue all boxing talk on these armchair shows (except fight coverage for sports center) and start its own all boxing program. ESPN already has employed within the ranks of their paid employees a man by the name of Teddy Atlas who knows the sport and has the respect of boxing in the palm of his hands and is known for his integrity and his "TELL IT LIKE IT IS" attitude. Who better to head a 30 minute or an hour weekly show covering the sport and keeping these same casual fans up to date with "WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON" within the sport of boxing... ESPN and other such channels do an excellent job following every other sport, but when it comes to boxing it seems it's o.k to just throw something together and feed it to Joe Blow Public and it will be o.k.. Well I'm writing this blog because it's not O.K and unless the real fans, the hard core fans start standing up and calling these networks, and promoters etc's bluffs we will continue to have our sport "SHIT ON" from every direction... If you agree with what I have to say send a copy of this blog (or write your own) to ESPN and lets flood them with our concern on how they cover our sport before it's too late!!! Our sport is too rich in history to be on the back burner like it is right now... Yes, people within the sport over the last 20 years or so have helped to tarnish the image of the sport... What's been worse has been these armchair, so called experts, speaking on a sport they don't, and wont, it doesn't seem take the time to at least do a little research to find out solid facts before speaking on subjects concerning the sport... There comes a point where art imitates life... If you don't vote you cant get mad when a certain political situation doesn't go your way. If you don't speak up you cant get mad when these armchair analyst further shit on our sport...

Looks like Gamboa's name is tied with the recent PED scandal in Miami, which had a ton of baseball players like A-rod.

A Miami Clinic has been identified as a source of supply for various doping products including human growth hormone (HGH) to testosterone to anabolic steroids. As reported by the Miami New Times, the client list includes:

San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera, Oakland A's hurler Bartolo Colón, pro tennis player Wayne Odesnik, budding Cuban superstar boxer Yuriorkis Gamboa, and Texas Rangers slugger Nelson Cruz. There's even the New York Yankees' $275 million man himself, Alex Rodriguez, who has sworn he stopped juicing a decade ago...

A bombshell investigation by the Miami New Times into an
anti-aging clinic in the city revealed several notable athletes as
clients and strongly suggests that they were recipients of
performance enhancing drugs.

One of those athletes is Yuriorkis Gamboa, the Cuban Olympic
gold medalist who has gone on to capture two featherweight
titles and an interim 130-pound belt in the pro ranks.

The Miami New Times article cites a notebook dating back to
2009 that the newspaper received from an employee of the
now-closed clinic. In it, the article says, is a listing of the drugs
Gamboa was allegedly receiving from Biogenesis and Anthony
Bosch.

“In the 2009 notebook, Bosch outlines an extensive program he
was shipping to Gamboa. In addition to protein powders and
calcium/magnesium/zinc compounds, he included a six-day-a-week HGH regime, IGF-1, and a cream with 20 percent
testosterone,” the article said.

“What's more, Bosch even notes that Gamboa's next bout is
scheduled against Brandon Rios the following April and writes,
‘Start clean-up Dec. 1’ — presumably giving the boxer enough
time to pass doping tests. (The fight against Rios was later
canceled, but Gamboa won two other fights by TKO and KO
that January and February.),” the article said.

[It should be noted that those Gamboa wins were actually in
early 2009, not in 2012, when Gamboa-Rios would have been
taking place.]

HGH is human growth hormone. IGF-1, according to the article,
“stimulates insulin production and muscle growth.” It has been
banned in sports such as baseball.
