FLOYD MAYWEATHER STILL IN FIGHTING SHAPE; BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL
By Ben Thompson | August 03, 2012
Not long after midnight PT, undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather was released from the Clark County Detention Center after serving 63 days of an 87-day prison sentence. After hearing reports of malnutrition, lack of exercise, and diminished muscle tone, including a rumor that he was weighing less than 140 pounds, many fans questioned exactly what type of shape Mayweather would be in once he actually got out. It appears Mayweather has now answered those questions, however, after posting a new picture of himself, still looking ripped and ready to fight, on his official Twitter page.
Along with the picture, Mayweather would comment, "Thanks for all the support and God Bless to everyone who wrote me." It was the first message that Mayweather himself has communicated since being released. Mayweather spent the night catching up with family and friends, enjoying a home cooked meal made by his personal chef, Jourdan Cha'Taun, that included pepper gravy smothered turkey patties, sweet corn, mashed potatoes, cilantro wings, spanish rice, garlic broccoli, lemon seabass, herb beurre blanc, asparagus with red onions and garlic, and strawberry cupcakes for dessert.
Reports from several members of The Money Team, including his personal assistant, David Levi, and his head of security, Big Kip, are that Mayweather is in good spirits and the time away has had no ill effects. In short, it's back to business as usual for "Money" Mayweather. No word yet on the future of his boxing career or his new promotional company, TMT Promotions, but no doubt his first order of business will likely be a rendezvous with Jackie Starr, his personal barber.
