A full hormonal panel is at least 4 vials, 6ml a piece. It's a good amount and training is not very easy to do the day or and even the day after. I've almost passed out before. Took a knee and walked right out of the gym.

I've got one coming up in a couple of months.
Would you say that if you were cutting weight while these vials were collected that could make things worse, like Pac claimed against Morales?

I agree because I do it about once a year.

Plus I'm not cutting weight, I hydrate as much as possible, eat a ton of liver and spinach (iron rich), just to get my plasma going again. Even with that, you cannot train when you get blood drawn like that. I've tried several times and I definitely feel it. They even tell you to wait at least 24 hours to do any type of exercise.

The first time I tried to go lift the same day (did 7 vials that morning). I walked in, did about 2 sets, took a knee for 2 minutes so I don't pass out like a fool in front of everyone, then walked right now.

I've tried doing my MMA another time, the next day, and my tank was definitely on the low side. Your body is working hard to replenish what it lost, plus your O2 intake is less.

People think 4 vials of 6ml blood is nothing. It may be nothing when you are sitting at home and eating cookies on the couch but when you are pushing your body till it breaks, you will see that it breaks sooner.

The actual plasma comes back in 24-48 hours. The actual red blood cells can take 6-8 weeks. This is the main reason I never give blood voluntarily.

Seems to be a common misconception these days. Truth is Manny never once said he's scared of needles, never. The only thing he said is giving blood makes him feel woozy/weak and didn't want to give blood on the day of the fight or whatever. Crook Arum is the one that said "i don't know, maybe the guys scared of needles" or something along those lines. Whatever, old news, just pointing out Pac never said that.

Edit
What are you replying to? I didn't even see a Pacquiao post on the last page.
I was replying to the Pac madness on the page before I made the comment. It's there.

Thanks man. Informative info from someone with first hand knowledge.

So the James Kirkland vs Rosado fight fell off because apparently Kirkland feels 50 cent is taking too much money. However, Kirkland's manager, who's been with him for 9 years, is saying that Kirkland knew the amount of money everyone was getting when he agreed, only to later change his mind. His manager said he thinks someone must be whispering in James ear, again, and that after 9 years nothing this man does surprises him anymore. Says he doesn't know what to do with Kirkland because all he has been doing is rejecting very good offers for a year now.

I call complete and total b.s. on this unless you/pacquiao has a blood disorder. They had a blood drive in boot camp and dudes DONATED blood, not 4 vials worth, sat down for 30 minutes while eating a cookie and drank some juice and were given no exception whatsoever from P.T. either that day or the next. If some dudes in boot camp can do it, a professional athlete should be able to.

It's a lame excuse. He got handled by Morales plain and simple. The gloves had more of an impact than the blood did unless he had a blood disorder of some kind or it was completely in his head.

Coach, see what Rumpelstiltskin said. He has first hand experience. I don't know if that's why he lost, like you I think him not being allowed to wear Clitoris Gloves, the bad cut he suffered early on from a headbutt, and that was his first fight in a new weight class were more legit factors. And of course Morales was an amazing fighter. It was a tough, close fight and Pac whooped him bad in the rematch. Regardless, my only point was he was saying all of this way before Floyd. That's it really.

Anyways, on another note. The boxing world felt some tremors today with the announcement that Canelo is back on HBO and apparently signed an exclusive contract. Espinoza over at showtime was in damage control, saying that he rejected Joshua Clottey as Canelo's next opponent because he didn't think Clottey was credible.....

I know, I'm calling Rumps out on it too. Unless you're anemic or have some other blood disorder, that doesn't even seem plausible. But I'm not a doctor, but it still sounds like b.s. based on the experience I've had with having to give blood and the other stuff I mentioned. They take 4 vials of blood out from kids and pregnant women when necessary. If they're doing it the night of the fight, that's one thing. 2 days beforehand is another.

But yes, that interview appears to be way before the Floyd fight obviously.

the fight will never happen, so stop talking about it. GBP became a success because ODH did whatever it took in the ring to create big competitive fights and risked his health and life to do so. Floyd is getting big money, but as a promo company TMT is already falling apart. That's what HBO, TR, and GBP want to do is get rid of Floyd as a whole and get Haymon shaking in his boots on how will he get his fighters paid. As long as he doesn't fight Manny, Floyd will end his career with a huge ? mark and TMT will forever fail. I've said this a shitload of times people

Let me be clear on this...

While I think Manny's excuses have been total b.s. when he has LOST, I don't think he was ducking Floyd or making excuses of why he wouldn't fight Floyd. If anything, Floyd's demands were totally outrageous and unprecedented for an opponent at that time and still seem pretty ridiculous.

Floyd kept talking about how he wanted to clean up the sport and has the dirtiest team in boxing. He's the biggest liar in the game in a game full of liars. All of his demands made it seem as though he was afraid to fight Pacquiao and 5 years later, I still believe that to be true even though I always thought Floyd would beat him.

Exactly, some "dudes". It wasn't you. You don't know how it is. Do you even train?

Boot camp? PT? I'm talking about lifting bone crushing weights or slugging it out with someone who is trying to rip your head off for 36 minutes while on a calorie deficit. Not some PT fat camp. Without the 100 grams of sugar from cookies and juice. Try putting the glucose back into your system with a 4oz chicken breast and lettuce.

Also what does a professional athlete have to do with it? Do they defy the laws of anatomy or something? An RBC count is an RBC count, regardless of who you are.

Curtis Stevens: How The F*** Did Taylor Get Title Shot?

By Keith Idec

When asked who he thought would win the Sam Soliman-Jermain Taylor middleweight title fight, contender Curtis Stevens made it clear he’s still trying to figure how that IBF middleweight title fight was even scheduled.

“Jermain Taylor, I don’t even know how he came into the picture – Al Haymon and his bullsh*t,” Stevens told BoxingScene.com. “This sh*t has got to be stopped. I don’t know where the f** he came from. I heard Jermain Taylor-Sam Soliman, and I was like, ‘What the f**? Who the f***? How much money did they put up for this bullsh*t? They just came in and … what the f***?’ I said, ‘This has got to be stopped. Hell, no.’ I said, ‘How the hell did he not have to fight in a title eliminator? I’m in an eliminator and he’s fighting for the title.’ I said, ‘Nah, there’s some bullsh*t going on here.’ ”

The influential, mysterious Haymon advises Taylor, the former undisputed middleweight champion who hasn’t beaten a top-10 middleweight since successfully defending his 160-pound titles against Cory Spinks in May 2007. The 36-year-old Taylor (32-4-1, 20 KOs) will challenge the 40-year-old Soliman (44-11, 18 KOs, 1 NC) for the Australian champion’s IBF middleweight title Oct. 8 in Biloxi, Miss. Stevens (27-4, 20 KOs) is scheduled to face France’s Hassan N’Dam (30-1, 18 KOs) on Oct. 1 in Santa Monica, Calif., in an IBF elimination match that’ll determine the Springfield, N.J.-based sanctioning organization’s mandatory challenger for the Soliman-Taylor winner.

ESPN2 will televise the Soliman-Taylor and Stevens-N’dam matches.
