exactly my point. even Floyd says it during interviews. Who will be TMT's PPV star? GBP only has 1! And in order for TMT to be successful they will need to do business wth the promotions that have the titles. Do you honestly think Floyd will do business with TR? And when he does he will officially have admitted to duck Manny! Plus that's IF Richard does business with TMT. Why isn't he working right now?
Again you are looking short term. Both Manny and Floyd will be retired in a few years. New stars always emerge.

Richard isn't working now because he was obviously fired by Oscar and they have an ongoing court case. Richard has stated he's going to stay in the boxing business. Where you think he's going to go?

Bob Arum will also likely be dead in a few years. He's like 82. When he's gone and DeBuff officially takes over, It's quite possible TMT will work with Top Rank, who knows. But it hardly matters since half of boxing is signed to Al Haymon.

Dela Hoya may not agree to a Canelo-Golovkin Fight

saul alvarez oscar de la hoya gennady golovkin By Idris Morrey: The kind of talent waiting to face Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is growing steadily by the day. Names are coming up and they have convincing records to deserve a match-up with the hard hitting Mexican.

The worrying bit is whether Canelo Alvarez’s promoter and Golden boy president Oscar Dela Hoya will really accept to let lose one of his from from the stable to face the dangerous middleweight fighters. From earlier on, it was expressed during the All Access Showtime episodes that De La Hoya was against Canelo fighting the Cuban Boxer Erislandy Lara. From his style, the left- handed Lara has been a dreaded fighter. Oscar publicly confessed that he did not want Canelo to face the Cuban. In their recent fight, it became evident that Dela Hoya’s fear was real from the beginning

Oscar is doing an injustice to this sport by wanting to avoid matching the best with the best. By also openly denying Lara a rematch, he opened the possibility of again denying unbeaten fighters in the division a chance in the ring with his Mexican red hair former champion.

In the light and middleweight class, Canelo should live up to his word that he fights the fans choice by going by their choice. He should once more rebel against Dela Hoya’s cherry pick and listen to his fan base. He chose a threat in Lara, now its time to point at another kill.

I honor Canelo for Fighting Current pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr because by so doing he proved how daring he can be and also portrayed him as a true fighter in the sport.

Big name right now is fighting this weekend and my advice to Canelo is to watch that match. Gennady Golovkin against former 160-pound titlist Daniel Geale. Alvarez has the chance to redeem his position as a future superstar in boxing if he can go past Golovkin.

Popularly known as GGG, Golovkin has been unleashing his power on opponents winning 26 of his 29 pro fights via knockouts. Canelo Too has a good record having only lost once in his 46 career fights.

Better match-ups like these ones seem not to please one Oscar Dela Hoya when every fan is calling out for them. Someone tell Oscar that someone else is fighting and not him if his fear is seeing blood and swelling.

Fury: I want Stiverne after Ustinov; Chisora lost his chance of ever fighting me again

Fury Ustinov Fury vs. Ustinov tyson fury derek chisora alexander ustinov By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO’s) says that Dereck Chisora burned his bridges with him pulling out of his scheduled fight with him this Saturday night in Manchester, and that he’s never going to attempt to put together another fight with the 30-year-old Chisora again.

Fury says he’s moved on with his career and that Chisora lost his chance. Fury will be facing replacement opponent #8 IBF, #9 WBA Alexander Ustinov (29-1, 21 KOs) this Saturday night in what Fury calls a “50-50 fight” at the Phones 4U Arena.

If Fury beats Ustinov, he wants to then leap frog over Deontay Wilder to challenge WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne for his title. Fury is currently ranked #10 by the WBC, so the only way Stiverne could fight him is if it were to be an optional title defense, which he currently doesn’t have available to him given that he was recently ordered by the WBC to fight Deontay next.

“As far as I’m concerned Dereck Chisora is history – finished,” Fury said via rte.ie. “After I’ve done with this lummox [Ustinov] in front of me, I want Bermane Stiverne for the WBC title. I’m not interested in Dereck Chisora, he ain’t got enough credibility to lace my boots up, never mind step in the same ring. He’s a s***house who dropped his b******s in training. Chisora is another David Haye – a wannabe. A wannabe Tyson Fury opponent in hindsight who realizes the daunting task ahead and decides I’ll live to fight another day rather than get annihilated.”

So there it is. Chisora has supposedly lost his chance of ever fighting Fury again for all time. This is funny. Fury is saying this now, but if Ustinov stretches him on Saturday night or if someone else like Deontay blasts him out, we could see Fury scheduled once again with a fight against Chisora. I mean, who else would there be for Fury to fight if he gets smashed by Ustinov?

It’s not as if he could get a big money fight against one of the other non-British heavyweights. Chisora would be his best bet to try and get a payday and rebuild his career. But in theory, Fury wouldn’t need another fight against Chisora ever if he were to destroy Ustinov and move on to have a long successful career as an eventual world champion. Fury would be in a different lane than Chisora and wouldn’t need to fight a guy who has failed each time he’s stepped up in the past against world class opposition.

At the same time the risk involved in trying to fight Chisora again might be deemed too high for Fury given Chisora pulling out of this fight. If Fury is riding high as a champion, then why would he want to potentially waste 6 months of his career against a guy he’s not absolutely certain will make it through training camp without getting injured again.

Fury obviously feels that Chisora got a case of cold feet and decided he’d be better off pulling out of the fight rather than taking another beating from him. But Fury also feels that Chisora should have taken the fight anyway even if he were injured in order to not let down the fans that had paid their hard-earned money to see them mix it up.

The question is would Fury fight Chisora if he knew he had a fractured hand? We’ll never know. But Chisora would stand to lose a lot if he were to go into the fight with his best weapon, his left hook, derailed due to a fractured hand. If Chisora were to lose that fight, he’d have a heck of a time trying to rebuild his career.

Robert Garcia: Mayweather is tipping off the referee by complaining about Maidana being a dirty fighter

Mayweather Maidana 2 Mayweather vs. Maidana 2 marcos rene maidana floyd mayweather jr By Chris Williams: Trainer Robert Garcia is upset the way that WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (46-0, 26 KOs) has been calling his fighter Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KO’s) a dirty MMA type fighter during his interviews and press conferences for their September 13th rematch at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Garcia thinks that by Mayweather constantly bad mouthing Maidana’s physical style of fighting, he’s tipping off whoever the referee and judges will be for the fight to watch what Maidana is doing and not give him credit.

Garcia says he’s going to talk to the referee before the fight and tell him that’s how Maidana fights, and ask him to let him use those tactics for the fight. Garcia also says that Mayweather does illegal stuff with his elbows by sticking them out and by pushing off with his forearm, so he’s not a clean fighter either.

“Maidana didn’t get any tough warnings [for his previous fight with Mayweather], it wasn’t that dirty,” Garcia said to Radio Raheem. “There was no points taken off. But that’s how he fights. But for him [Mayweather to talk about it every time he’s on the microphone, he’s pretty much warning whoever the referee is going to be, whoever the judges are going to be. The whole world is watching the press conferences and all his interviews. So he’s already warning whoever the refs going to be, ‘Oh, he’s a dirty fighter, he’s an MMA fighter.’ He’s [Mayweather] smart, he’s a businessman. Once we know who the referee is and we talk to him, and I’m going to tell him that’s [fighting rough] our chance, that’s the way we fight, give us a break; don’t take that chance away from us.”

So, Garcia is going to try and convince the referee, whoever that is, that he should give Maidana a free pass for the fouling that he does against Mayweather? I’m really surprised that Garcia is even talking about this in an interview, because it doesn’t show him in the best light.

Garcia is probably right about Mayweather tipping off the referee and judges for the fight with his talking about Maidana’s fouling. Mayweather really shouldn’t have been in the position to do this in the first place if the referee that worked their previous fight, Tony Weeks, had done a better job of controlling the fouling that Maidana did.

If Weeks had stepped in and taken points away from Maidana for his low blows, head-butting and rabbit punches, Maidana likely would have stopped fouling sooner or later. You can make an argument that Maidana should have lost 3-5 points, possibly more, due to the fouling that he did last May. But if Weeks had started taking points off early, then Maidana might have changed his fighting style and kept it clean the rest of the way.

Mayweather then wouldn’t be talking about Maidana now by calling him a dirty fighter. So you’ve got to blame the referee for their previous fight, and Maidana as well for how he fought. If Mayweather were to be silent about the fouling, it would be a sign that he was okay with what Maidana did against him in their first fight.

This in turn might lead a referee working their rematch to turn a blind eye to Maidana’s fouling for that fight as well. Mayweather wasn’t going to do this, because he needs the referee to do his actual job in the ring by controlling the fouling.

Mayweather doesn’t want to end up being kneed or rabbit punched into submission on September 13th. With the way that Maidana was fouling last time, without having points taken off, you have to wonder if he would have had his hand raised if he knocked Mayweather out with a rabbit punch

I read that GB article wrong, I must have been half asleep still. Either way, I don't like this state that boxing is in. There is a ton of unrest here.

I have to think that GB will rebound here. Floyd may have a good relationship with Haymon and Schaefer, but he's had SO many acrimonious relationships with people, shown to be an ahole in public on numerous occasions, he was linked to a murder within the last year, went to jail due to domestic violence etc... DLH has been stupid too, but going to rehab looks a lot better than going to jail and all the other stuff I just mentioned. Boxing is carried by the popularity of Mexican fans and fighters. Money is the great equalizer in business, but overall, I gotta think that some fighters would favor signing with GB.

About that Mayweather/ref/Maidana article, fighters facing Mayweather don't tip the ref enough about Floyd's clinching, pushing the face, and holding down the neck with the elbow. Floyd is almost never warned about those things in a fight.

I think GB will be fine too, they are just going to go through some rough spots right now. As for TMT, who knows how that will play out. I'm just saying I think Thats the plan now, to try and build it to a real powerhouse. Richard and Haymon (and others) tried to buy Golden Boy. They wanted to own it, as it's much easier to acquire an established company and run it, versus starting from the bottom. They couldn't buy it, so their gonna put their efforts in TMT. That's why in the past month or so Floyd got is promoters license in both NY and Nevada. He never cared to have his license before. Also homo Leonard Ellerbe had his license as well so I'm sure he'll have a big role, Floyd will just be the figure head like Oscar was with GB.

Yeah, I mean, they obviously have some clout because Haymon is the name right now. Gotta figure it's only a matter of time before the stories start coming out how their fighters are getting screwed left and right. Haymon can't keep that "advisor" title forever, dude is a manager. That presents some other challenges he hasn't had to deal with. Also gotta think that Showtime gets hip to the game about putting on all these showcase fights. Got 2 more lined up with Broner and Matthysse now. I'm gonna be pissed if Thurman's next fight isn't for a title or SOMETHING. Plus, how many easy touches is Broner gonna get? He's only fought a couple of decent names and got absolutely taxed by one of them, and arguably lost to the other.

We'll see how Kathy Duva's lawsuit pans out. It specifically calls out Haymon as acting as both Manager and Promoter, which of course violates the Ali Act. She may drop it though to pave the way for Bernard Hopkins vs Kovalev. Since Hopkins has been saying he'll fight Kovalev first (something going on with Adonis Stevenson, not sure if It's the lawsuit, secret injury or what because it seemed like that was the entire point of it all - to make Hopkins Stevenson - but we've heard nothing since and Hopkins going on record that he'll fight Kovalev next...).

The only way Showtime changes is if Espinoza gets fired. He is an Al Haymon guy and literally signs off on whatever shitty fight lands on his desk without batting an eye. HBO got firm with Haymons bullshit fights which is what started this whole war. Haymon took his people (which was nearly all of Golden Boy) over to Showtime. I bet we start seeing Golden Boy on HBO real soon now that Richard and Haymon won't be apart of it

My guess is that he'll get fired tbh. At first it seems like it'll take forever but ratings are tanking this year because of their wack fight selections. Boxing fans are among the smartest fans in any sport. We are not going to put up with stuff like that, and a lot of dudes will settle for streaming those fights. It's not like the NFL pulls that crap. They don't have the Seahawks go from playing in the Super Bowl to playing a Division 2 NCAA team for a few weeks before playing an NFL level team again.

Yeah, and it's not like there are a ton of tv sports executives with great boxing relationships out there to choose from. Granted, whoever they pick usually oversees the entire sports section of the network, so that's a tough market to find someone capable with experience that isn't already working somewhere else. Both of the last 2 guys there were lawyers with no boxing experience outside of legal experience.

Espinoza will not get fired, as crazy as that sounds, but will force Haymon's fighters to make bigger fights. Garcia, Quillin, and now Khan are becoming no names by fighting no names. HBO will force Haymon to make these fighters fight real competition if not get the fuck out of here. I actually don't see Haymon working for TMT either since most fighters won't sign to TMT unless they are young prospects that don't know shit about the business. Haymon can only do so much in the position he's in and Floyd cannot promote the way DLH can. DLH put his life on the line in the ring and fought anyone at any cost to build his company. Floyd needs DLH in order for him to even do a ppv!

I was surprised to see the co-main on Bum Fights 48 was James Toney! On that same card??????????
James Toney pulled out. Not sure why they were going to be on the same card in fucking Latvia. That's one of then countries you tell me to point to on a globe snd I'm like Ahhhhh somewhere by Poland maybe?? Maybe they were planning on setting up a rematch to prove who is shot to shit more.
