Am I the only one who remembers from the beginning, and the first post in this thread, that they cuffed Oscar Grant after he was shot?

Not that it makes a difference, but a lot of you are saying 'he shot a cuffed man' when I don't think that was the case.

Regardless, it is a sad situation, and the tension surrounding this case is going to get a lot higher before its all said and done.

oscar grant was not cuffed, go look at the video.. after hes shot his arms are free.

mehserle was not highly trained, its bart police for gods sake, a week at the shooting range, a little certificate and whoop-tee-doo he's 'certified' in gun safety. Thats the problem.. to save money they skimp out on officer's training. Shit like this wouldnt happen if they were really trained properly. Wasnt he only 1 or 2 years on the job?

good training costs $1000 and up, which includes being able to pull the gun from your holster and shoot a target bullseye in 1.5 seconds, you should also be able to take your gun apart and put it back together in a specified amount of time.

lol @ military sniper, may sound like bullshit but its not.. alot of cops pay for their own training and go to frontsight in nevada for these classes.

like ive been saying though.. you dont shoot someone only once with a gun, look at the video, you clearly see lack of experience/professionalism, from the moment they failed to diffuse the situation.

I have a friend who's a cop...who is black...and he said it looked like a mistake. But of course he can't say for sure.

He said that these guys are not trained very well...and that the handle of a tazer and the weight is very similar to the gun they carry.

He said he most likely panicked...and grabbed the wrong one.

fuck what he thought was happening. dude was laying down on his stomache...pigs will say whatever to get out of shit if they have to. not all of them are the same, but these are the types of cops that should be fuckin shot in the face.

When the story first broke, they said he was cuffed, and then after he was shot that another cop said to take the cuffs off. my question is, why would they cuff him AFTER he was shot? that wouldnt look right at all, help them in any way.

but his fellow officer buddies claim they gave him a taser in the middle of the shift....

This whole thing is disturbing as fuck. It ain't 1st degree murder because it wasn't pre-meditated, but this cop needs to be in jail for what he did. Even if it was "an accident." All the witnesses say Oscar wasn't resisting and didn't even need to be tased. This cop needs to face some fucking justice.
